Powell beats Clinton 9-4. Powell overall 11-4 and in the district 5-3. powell is on a 6 game winning streak and looking to make it a 7th with clinton tomorrow night! powell is very solid in there line-up and has extras if they need them. watch out oakridge and halls cuz u could be looking at some up sets if your not on your toes.

From what I have seen out of Oak Ridge, Powell, and Halls... I dont think it would be a upset if Powell took these games, Powell has a solid line up 1-9 and everyone on the team has alot of playing time already in the bag seeing as Powell only lost T.J. Farmer last year they had to fill one hole a 2nd base, i'd say Powell or Oak Ridge win the district and Halls in 3rd.

I'll say this Powell has a great chance to get to the front of the pack if they sweep Oak Ridge & Halls. Then if Karns can win at least once against the Ridgers. Thats the only way I see Powell getting the #1 seed this year for the District Tournament.

 

My pick is Oak Ridge to be the #1 seed now after the Clinton upset of Halls. There wasn't much between Oak Ridge and Halls untill then. Now the race is wide open for second thru fourth.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
