No reason to get smart about it. Creek Wood is not even in the Boro, so no they didn't. Smart question there bright one! LOL, but if the state tournament were to be held in Dickson, CW would be a Championship site.
#1VolsFan
wat does creek wood not being in the boro have to do with anything? if tssaa is willin to have the state tourney in memphis im sure they would be willing to hold it in dickson if they had a nice enough field

First you have to have enough Hotels to hold everyone (Dickson does not have near enough, Boro does), Second if you notice when you go to the spring fling (If you have been there or go there) it is all in the Boro a designated city. And it was great in Memphis I went there too, the ballparks were beautiful and there was plenty of hotels to room everyone. Just like in the Boro I was there also, it was the same thing nice fields and plenty of hospitality. Trust me you have to have a big city to hold the state tournament b/c you are holding all Spring Sports hence Spring Fling. TSSAA does not pick only based on the nicest fields b/c there are 5 other spring sports they have to host as well. The "state tournament" was in Murfreesboro not Oakland, Oakland was just a site for Baseball to be played at. But anyways Im not saying that Oakland does not have a nice field b/c I am sure they do, but TSSAA did not chose Oakland they chose the Boro. I don't go to Oakland or CW, so im not biased either way. Im just stating the facts.
ksgovols
Agreed. If all it took was one nice baseball field to host state, there are a number of schools that would host state. Oakland didn't host a state tournament because their field was any nicer than Creekwoods. They got to host one because Murfreesboro bid on and won the rights to host Spring Fling. THEN........they selected 3 or 4 baseball diamonds in the area to host the games. AA played at Columbia State. How many high school baseball fields do they have in Murfreesboro? Apparently not enough nice ones to host all the games in one county. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> When it was in Memphis, they played parts of the state tournament in Mississippi. It's not all about baseball either. All the spring sports are held in the same locale at the same time. Memphis lost money on the deal. Dickson would have to be part of a Nashville package or Clarksville bid to even consider hosting state.
back_4_more
ok......i hear all these names and they are pretty big schools........im sure none of ya'll have visited Jackson County baseball feild A.K.A. Alex Cassetty Memorial Feild House...but it is so beautiful.....and not to say its a 7a school.....the coach of Jackson County baseball team Kevin King works his butt off everyday to keep it well kept.....it is a beautiful sight when u come over it at night when the lights are on....its just perfect!! columbiaguy
Columbia has the best PLAYING SURFACE in middle Tennessee. They just don't have lights and all the extra stuff that goes with winning field of the year. It would have been a state tourney site if it had lights instead of one of the Murfreesboro schools.
