QUOTE(football4me @ May 1 2007 - 08:48 PM) 826449419[/snapback]I think Bo would be a great hire. Being a grad from Mcminn and coaching there, I think they need someone like him. He is a good friend of mine and I know he would insteal those things he learned from Mullinax. He is a home town boy, you should want him to have the job. I know this is a job he has wanted and I hope he gets it. I am a coach myself and if I had the opportunity to come back home and coach, money would be no object. People like Bo and I remember where we come from and would do because we love our home town. This is just from a coaching aspect and also being from Athens.

If he (Cagle) wants to come back so bad, Why isnt he already an asst at Mcminn. Besides,If he dont get the job at Mcminn he has already got a job at Walker Valley. But, i would say he and Hanynie get along pretty good, knowing their personalities. Don't worry (football4me) your buddy will get the job, it was a done deal from the start. Politics, Politics,Politics.

If Coach Cagle is such a Mullinax disciple, he should already be on the staff at McMinn. I think he is the Grubb's and Haney's choice but what about Tracy Malone? Experienced and Proven Winner.

First of all im from Mcminn and I would like to be there. Its not like it is up to him wether he is an assistant or not. Its up to the head coach. Second of all, Tracy Malone dosnt have any playing experience. I know for a fact he has been lucky every where he has been. That is not coaching. This is just as much my home as it is yours. I know how the system works here and what people look for. If they wanted quality they should have done whatever it took to keep Mullinax. Im telling you right now, Bo would be the man to get the job done. If you new anything about coaching the game today, you would know this. Again, Bo is like me, I would do anything to be back in Athens with my mom and dad coaching at the school I love, but it isnt always up to us, its up to the head coach.

The word is that Bo has gotten the job and the press release will hit the papers today......This makes for alot of speculation seeing what position his mother holds but hey it also makes for a great story with his legacy. Would it not make for a great story if he came in here and was successful......I can see it know.......Grandson of McMinn legend "Ace" Adams returns to lead McMinn. Good luck Bo!!!!!

Playing experience? Come on now, if you knew Bo so well, you would know Bo played college baseball and not football. The only experience he has was at Mcminn. I say that to say this, playing college football doesnt make you a good coach, it does help, but it doesnt automatically make you a good coach. Heath Davis played one year at Mcminn Central and is considered by alot of coaches as a great coach. Mcminn Co. politics Dept. oops i mean athletic dept has made a mistake and they will be the ones who have to answer for it. They passed on 2 great christian men and great football coaches (Bennett & Smith) for a political hire. Cagle may be successful at Mcminn, but i hope he is more successful at being a christian example to these kids off the field as well on it. that is what we need in coaches today. I wish him the best of luck

Whistle 76 if Davis is considered such a "great coach" then why he is selling real estate in Cleveland? How can one consider this a mistake? I mean the guy has not coached the first day at McMinn and you are already critizing him. Obviously you don't know Bo!

Good luck Bo and welcome home!!! Finally someone like Mullinax is directing this program someone who will not let the players cuss them and throw there helmets when they come off of the field finally someone who has a hair on their a_ _ and will let the parents know who is in charge finally we have a leader who will demand and recieve the players best effort finally someone who knows how to win!

If they will put their best eleven on the field ( two way players) then they will be in the playoffs. Get them in shape and put the best athletes on both sides of the ball. It doesnt matter if its 5A or 1A we dont have players coming in like say a Maryville from everywhere. (no disrespect just stating fact) That QB is to good of an athlete not to be on the field as much as possible. He will score from ether side of the ball in my opinion. We cant worry about injuries or it will happen. Good luck coach work hard an great things will happen.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
