prich01
Do any high school teams still play together in the summer. It's my understanding that the TSSAA allows for 10 dates of school vs. school competition but does anybody utilize this or does everybody play on select travel teams only? We are looking for teams to play this summer at Cumberland County High School in Crossville. We will travel as well.

Dobyns Bennett keeps their team together and plays in tournaments down around the Cleveland area every summer. They only play the weekends in June. They also practice with a few games through the week.
cbg
Starting the Fall of 2007 "Fall Baseball" with school teams will not be allowed and this will be the last year (2007) that you can keep your team together for the Summer. This is refered to as the 50/50 rule in that you may not have 50% of the players (in baseball it will no more than 4 players) from the same school playing on the same Summer team. UNLIKE basketball's summer AAU programs, baseball's FALL programs got BANGED!!! As other hear have noted, the 50/50 rule kicks in from start of school (what about year-round schools?) onward....
