magoo043
QUOTE(Harris @ May 1 2007 - 04:29 PM) 826449340www.dnj.com I am pretty far away but I can see every result I want and it updates their national ranking every week on the front page. You want a paper dedicated just to Oakland's baseball team, go make one. Check the page on the site for high school sports and tell me if you still think it is adequate. I think that the overall prep coverage is awful for all the schools.
magoo043
QUOTE(davidlimbaugh @ May 1 2007 - 04:51 PM) 826449351The web-site isn't the issue - it is what actually gets put in paper in your driveway that is the problem.... The web site is too a problem....The high school aports page hasn't been updated, there are actually pictures from a Hunters Lane v. Maplewood football game. Last time I checked those schools weren't in Rutherford Co.
Harris' hooligans
Click on the normal sports section. Sure they could make it more organized on there but It is all there. They update the front page everyday with several updates. Thats the only way I knew Oakland was #4 in the nation is when I went there. What does it matter if you read it in your hand or on the website. Its there for you to read. In the fall and the winter, they were all over it no matter what school it was, so why stop now?

I remember last year they covered almost every district game between the Murfreesboro teams at least and many more games. Look in this years paper, not the website, and all you see is what people called in. I think I remember 2 maybe 3 actual articles on games which is pitiful. People PAY for the PAPER not the website. This stuff should be put in the paper, no excuses. Doesnt matter what the attendence is. They covered tennis pretty well starting around district tournament time. Tell me, how many people yall had at yalls games? I dont think attendence has any factor into this matter.

justafanman22
It makes no sense....this is a huge year for HS baseball in the County. Riverdale, Blackman, and Siegel are all above average. Oakland and Smyrna are in the top 5 in the state. Middle tennessee Christian School is even having an outstanding year. Still no coverage. Just think about the kids in rutherford county who are signing scholarships and moving on to a higher level baseball. The DNJ has "dropped the ball" on the best season of Rutherford County Baseball since both Riverdale and LaVergne made the Spring Fling. chuckm
QUOTE(davidlimbaugh @ May 1 2007 - 03:37 PM) 826449311Next time MTSU Baseball plays a weekday night game - look in the DNJ the next morning for the story about the game... That early deadline at the DNJ knows no boundaries /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> Seems like MTSU adjusted the baseball game start times to 6 p.m. from 7 p.m. so they would get in the paper. Maybe the 6:30 starts should be moved up to 6. An extra 30 minutes makes a world of difference.
