If he played in AAA , he would have max about 5 or 6, I would never say anyone in single A is the best hitter in the state. there is no proof with the pitching they see

 

Sonny Gray is the best player in the state, and anybody that doesn't think so obviously has not seen this phoenom

I would definately agree that Sonny is the best pitcher in the state. As far as all around player I would have to go with his teammate Egerton.

Clayton Gant is the best player in the state. He can pitch, he can hit and he can field his position.

Wow what a topic... best all around player in the state would have to be Sonny Gray.. this kid not only has hit 97 m.p.h. this year but he is also batting .490 with 7HR's... this kid is an athlete.. and his teamate Egerton just hit his 10th tonight in 9AAA which is a pretty good district I might say

It would be impossible to pick THE best player in the state. Being from West Tenn I'm more familiar with the players here. I've not seen the likes of Sonny Gray but I'm sure he's ONE of the best. As far as giving me my money's worth I'll put Josh Liles (USJ) at the top of any list - great hitter, outfielder, catcher, and pitcher. He's got great speed and likes to use it on the bases. Best of all, he's a fantastic kid - treats everybody with respect and is great with the younger players. I'm sure he belongs on that list of the best players in Tenn.

I would tread lightly about what class has the best pitching. Last year Class A Forrest had Mikey Minor who is now the #4 starter at Vanderbilt as a true freshman. He is 7-0 as a starter, and Ben Skelly who is pitching for Vol State. Both are low 90s pitchers.

Divsion II had Matt Packer who is the Saturday (#2) on Virginia's staff.

sonny can be one of the best players but the best player in the state is timothy egerton the SS from smyra

Tyler Covington from Ooltewah is a very good hitter..im not saying he's the best but he can swing it very well.
