This camp is open to '08, '09, '10, (Rising sophs, juniors, and seniors) and Junior College players.

The format will be different from last year. We will only utilize Frost Stadium and Hargraves. We will do testing on Hargraves Field -- 20- and 30-yard dash, Home to First, Home to Home, Pop to Pop times (for catchers), Veritcal Leap, Overhand Throw Velocity. These are the portions that college coaches have expressed to us that they don't necessarily need to see, but want results for.

In Frost Stadium, we will showcase skills. Infield/Outfield, Batting Practice, Live At-bats. Pitchers will throw all their pitches with a radar gun in the bullpens of Frost Stadium.

We have 23 Colleges and Universities committed to attend and are getting several per week. Many of those schools are sending two coaches, which puts us at around 35 coaches.

I would encourage anyone that came to our Showcase last year in August and did not come the previous year in June to attend this year. It will be a very different atmosphere than August's Showcase. The beginning of June, just before travel ball really gears up, is the optimal time to showcase your skills.

If you have anymore questions or would registration information, please contact Jeremy at fury.fastpitch@yahoo.com or 423-505-9527.

Yes, I think that would be fair.

Please send an email to fury.fastpitch@yahoo.com, and let me know where to send the check. Thanks

for your support in getting these student athletes the exposure they need.

Thanks.

For fans who may wonder where this request comes from, I have wrestled with the best way to handle this for several months. A recruiting camp for girls' basketball players was charging $150 per player and had 150 players come in, a total of $22,500. When asked to pay a $150 fee, they refused and accused me of trying to take advantage of young girls. While I have nothing against these camps, as long as they do what they say they will do, I felt that they should pay a fee if they are charging a fee. After all, if the camp doesn't do what it says then fans will associate that with CoachT.com, also. If the camp is free, so is the advertising.

I agree coach, people who run camps should not be ashamed to pay for advertising, especially since they are going to make so much off the exposure this site gives them.

    • How will McKenzie be under new coach this season?  Who are a few weapons they will have on offense and defense?
    • It's time to play everybody's favorite game of how is this season going to go. I'll undertake the fool's errand of a prediction. Encourage the region 2 fans to do the same. Cloudland: Top until they get beat always seem to perform year in year out with a small changing roster. Cosby, North Greene: These two could finish in either order they didn't have big senior classes. Lots of young guys got experience last season and most of their best athletes are upperclassmen it'll depend on coaching and if the kids can put it all together.  Jellico, Unaka: Like the two above could finish in either spot both of them lost key pieces to graduation. It'll depend on how returners play and if young guys can fill shoes.  Hancock: Small roster size devastated by a big senior class that took a lot of the experience and athleticism with them.
    • Confident that Marion, Moore, and Gordonsville are losses.  7-3 would be a nice turnaround.  5-5, 4-6, 3-7, etc. and it's a disappointment
