9-AAA District Tournament

9-AAA turned out to be a 3 horse race this year, with Smyrna, Beech, and MJ fighting for the top spot. Smyrna come out on top and have to play Gallatin and Hendersonville. Beech and MJ draw La Vergne and Wilson Central. My guess is Smyrna come out on top of there bracket, but Beech and MJ could be an epic battle, with Beech prevailing in a close one. But everyone knows people come to play at tournament time!!

I can tell you that Smyrna will make it out. I'm in the dugout in every Smyrna game and we're not the best team in school history for nothing. We didn't come this far to lose and Gallatin and Hendersonville are combined 0-4 against us. We haven't played and won a game against them where we didn't win by less than 3 runs. I'm looking forward to Saturday's game.

Your right, Smyrna is doing pretty good.. but remember anything can happened at anytime and in the tourney teams come with there "A" game.. I believe Smyrna will make it out but they have to play like they no they can... im going with Mt. Juliet on the other side..

I know #4 Gallatin vs. #5 H'ville will be tom. night at Smyrna I think at 6:30 or 7 not sure on the time, and then Sat. at 1:00 #1 Smyrna vs. #4/#5 winner...???

GM 1. #4 Gallatin vs. #5 Hendersonville Friday at 6:00

GM2. #1 Smyrna vs. Winner of Game 1 Saturday at 1:00

GM3. Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2 Saturday at 4:00

GM4. Winner of Game 2 vs. Winner of Game 3 Monday at 6:00

GM5. If Necessary rematch of Game 4. Tuesday at 6:00

Wow your goin with MJ from the other bracket....??? i don't know about that one Beech has already beat MJ twice this year including beating Taylor Hill at Beech earlier this year......I say it comes down to another Beech vs. Smyrna matchup in the championship game on Tuesday

Beech, in my opinion, is slightly stronger and definitely deeper than MJ. I think Smyrna comes out of their bracket. I don't think it will be as easy as they think. District tourneys are funny. i can honestly say that i played on a team with 4 district wins one year. We played a 3 seed Hendersonville in the "play-in" game (the format was different in the late 90s, only 4 teams made the district tourney and there were play-in games for those slots. only the district champion was guaranteed) and we won 9-0. That was pretty wacky.

Hendersonville vs. Gallatin will restart at 1 PM. Hendersonville is batting in the top of the 4th leading 8-7. Winner will play Smyrna at 4. Losers of those games will play Monday at 4 with the winner playing again at 7 needing to win twice.

      Hope the catcher on baseball team come back out and play's football . He didn't play last year if I remember but I don't remember much after that wreck anyways.. But he did play his freshman and soph years and I thought was a very good player. He's put on some size now, so I'm hoping he's thinking about playing again..

      They’ll get it worked out eventually.Farragut is too good of a program to be down for long. As an OR fan, I can’t really say I’m too distraught about it though.

      I didn’t even see that until you said something, but I don’t think it’s that bad. Yes, the coaches can’t get along with each other. But I don’t think they’re openly taking shots at each other right in front of the parents. If they are, that’s pitiful though, that’s really pitiful. I sure hope they’re not, but yeah, I’ve heard the same thing from players over at Farragut getting fed up, and I feel as though what the coaching staff has been trying to keep under the prying eyes of the parents is now out on full display.
