QUOTE(doorbell @ May 21 2007 - 02:13 PM) 826464075TCA bats are better then FCS. There pitching are about the same.FCS "D" is a little better, not much, If the ump's don't give the out side corner, FCS will win 2 to 1 , if they give the out side corner TCA pitcher will beat FCS 1 to 0

You have to be kidding...pitching is not even close. We've played against both teams and sorry...TCA wins the pitching duel hands down. Now every team and player can have a bad game but if TCA doesn't blow up...this game is theirs.

What a game, probably will be the best game of the entire tournament. FCS did have some errors as well as Trinity. On any given day these teams could exchange wins. Although, this may or may not have made a difference in the winning run, Trinity was given a big gift with a very large bow. Even the head umpire said the umps missed that call on third. When you have two teams as good as these, its terrible that the umps can't make the right calls. The head ump said these were baseball umps, well don't you think in the girls state tournament they could get some umps that call softball on a regular basis. These girls work too hard all year, let them decide the winner. If any team has made it this far they deserve that right.......

Was it a bad, BAD call. Yes it was. Did it decide the game? no it didn't. If the score had ended 1-0 TCA then it would be a different scenario. But i think you said it best when you said that FCS had some errors and so did Trinity, on any day these teams could exchange wins. I would like to just add that both teams had a few shots to win the game for their team and TCA came out on top. Best of luck to both teams and i hope to watch them play again.

QUOTE(liondef4 @ May 23 2007 - 01:00 AM) 826465038The call at third was the correct call. Once the ball has made contact with a player it is in play. I've seen the same play happen before and the same call was made. Both teams played well. Too bad it was a first round game. Good luck in rest of tournament

It was not the correct call the girl left third base as you would on a pop up and once the left fielder bobbled the ball

she took off

She never tagged back up. She was two steps from home plate when the umpire made the call.

The problem was the third base umpire turned his back to the tag up to watch the catch, as he should and the first base umpire had to watch the runner on second.

The home plate umpire totally watched the play and never watched the tag.

Both teams had chances to win the game and I hope they meet in the finals. Supposedly there was someone filming the

game that had it on tape. Not that it does any good except to be used as training material for umpires to learn what not to do.
