2nd item. GP has an awesome team, but tone the girls softball chanting down a little. It's too similar to Gibbs. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

It must work since both the boy's and the girls from Goodpasture are playing for the State Championship today. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

QUOTE(FBGIRL @ May 25 2007 - 03:26 PM) 826467094[/snapback]GP WINS! 5-4 9 innings. Congrats to GP.

Congratulations to Goodpasture ! Played a BUNCH of extra inning games. Makes Wednesday's "Marathon pill" just a little easier to swallow ! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

What better way for GP to win than to beat their most hated rival ....(the Yank-Red Sox of high school baseball) .... the game lived up to all the hype ... what a swing of momentum ..... congrats to the Cougars on number 6 ... all the alums and former players are so proud that your keeping the tradition going

lets go for round two in 08 ... what ya say USJ ...lets play for the title again next year ... hopefully it will as good as this classic was .....

May have been the best state final ever ( just ahead of 03 final between USJ and Davidson)

USJ has a great team ... nothing to ashamed of ... and Liles is one heck of player

will he go to UT or the draft?

    • I have no affiliation with Maryville anymore outside of being a 2nd generation graduate from a large family of Rebel alumni. That relationship ended courtesy of the lame duck AD (a Bearden grad I might add) and the HBIC. That said, I could care less if a private school comes through and offers every promising athlete out of that school or any other school better opportunities.
    • A perfect example is for athletes at Clinton High School. I will completely understand, and hopefully everyone should understand why they want to, and as of right now, it looks like that’s going to happen in numbers over the summer.
    • I mean, that’s easy to say when it hasn’t happened to your school that often, if at all, but yeah, I think everybody should be for the student athlete or player. Whatever they think will help them or their athletic career, I feel like they should be able to do that, even if that means transferring schools. Now I don’t really get that when you have almost every offer you could want and then jump ship, but what can I say? I guess money talks.
    • I for one am all for it.
    • Covid killed the city because they chose not to play football in the 2020 season. Therefore, kids weren't able to practice and develop, and continuing to lift weights. Memphis basically had 7/8 graders, skipping a year, then playing 9/10 high school football. Now, there's only one team that has made a "dent" which will be Southwind (made it to the 5A semifinals last year).  If you want to go more suburbs, then it'll be Houston, which won the 6A state title, defeating Oakland Other than that, I agree.
