I'm new to this sport cross country. How many miles do you run at a meet, and what is a good time?

We run roughly 3 miles. It's actually 3.1 or 5 kilometers.

And a good 5k time is sub 16.

So a 1733 is a good time on road surface?? Now this is up and down hills not flat.. Running mostly on the shoulders and back city roads

im just going by the fact that 1730 would have gotten you all state at state last year. roads are not steeplechase. ya steeple looks flat and etown will call it a pancake but that thing will destroy you

we could throw DL and CPA into the equation and pretty much watch them duke it out for who's the expected favorite from middle tennessee. not that anybody expects CPA to go to state, but it's not their fault their region is stacked, it's a shame really, they'd make it anywhere else. what was the point of this post? oh, yeah, MLK isn't attending subway, can't remember the justification, i think it just didn't fit their schedule very well. at anyrate, they'll be at classic, so we'll see how that plays out.

while the top a/aa runners at the classic will be mahaney, coniglio, and johnson...but not just a/aa schools will be in the small school race. there are some good out of state schools and usually father ryan
