Hey all big blue faithful, how is the 07 season going to shape up? How did spring ball go and who should we look for. I am really interested because I am on the sidelines every Friday night at another place and still feel a connection to the program that I call home. Thanks everyone!

Somebody please say something......yes you are young and inexperenced...but you have a new coach...and and are just 2 years removed from winning a gold ball.........surely there is some excitement somewhere in LA. I'm excited because I thought for sure Coach Maynard was on his way back to LA..

Smith Co. and LA week 0.......

The rumors of Jimmy coming back home to coach certainly stirred a little excitement until he turned it down (or whatever happened)!! I haven't heard anything from practices or scrimmages that would stir any excitement-----yet! I think we will bounce back from last year's nightmare, but how high we bounce will be determined by how our young and inexperienced players develop between now and week 0. They have a shot at a decent season IMO. I'm hoping Coach Swallows opens up the offense with several new looks. We just don't have the talent to run the same stuff we have for the past 5 years. That was very evident last year!

They will be young and inexperienced again but we have a shot at making the playoffs and once you get in the playoffs who knows what can happen but it will take lots of hard work to match the talent in region 2-3A. Hard work bets talent when talent is not put to work!!!

Hey wildcat#75, no disrespect intended, but back in the Terry Melton years, we had a blue and white game every year. As a matter of fact my sophmore year it was in front of the student body but got cut short due to best friends fighting during the game. My best friend was whipping my tail and it could not go unanswered, lol. We are still great friends and I feel those years were some of the hardest nosed LA teams around. I am biased though, lol! Anyway, great to hear things went so well. I wish I could come up and see first hand on Fridays but I will be on the sidelines myself. I will be there in spirit though and wish you guys the best of luck. Play your hearts out and be tough. I'm pulling for my hometown boys. H-O-G, E-Y-E, Hogeye, Hogeye, T-N-T!!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    • Perhaps it is within the realm of possibility that the comprehension of my discourse, both by yourself and others, may be circumscribed by the boundaries of intellectual acumen. Might one contemplate this notion from such a perspective? Allow me to clarify that my intent does not lean towards disparagement, save for instances where provocation is directed towards myself or the esteemed troupe of the Trousdale County Yellow Jackets who proudly find domicile upon the hallowed grounds of CREEKBANK. In contemplation of the candidates under discussion, it is conjectured that individuals such as Gregory, Woodmore, Vetetoe, Eden, Hackett, and Cothron may emerge as contenders. Regrettably, it is deemed improbable that Shoulders shall express interest in this pursuit. Speculation arises regarding the potential candidacy of BJ West, albeit the implications of familial ties with Lafayette introduce complexities to such a scenario. The enigma of Dr. Clint's deliberations looms large, fraught with the weight of a formidable decision yet to be made.
    • My kind sir, you seem to be lost within the time space continuum having traveled from the 16th Century or you aspire to hide your true intelligence by masking your language with that of the great playwright. You know good and well, your commentary takes your fellow comrades hours to decipher what you are really saying and most of them are likely left questioning whether you have insulted them or find them to be in your favor. I offer you some advice. In my travels through this area of the country, it is best to speak slow and with a twang and you don't annunciate  words to their fullest. Your points will be clear then!  Any names been mentioned around town as Actual Applicants to this job? Seen several post mentioning individuals, but I haven't heard of any of them except for Shoulders. Does he have ties to TC?  Have amy of the other names mentioned ever been in the HC position before?
    • They’re building something special there. They have 4 Varsity games scheduled & 5 JV. They are trying for a 5th Varsity game. Beat them now because they will be good in the future. They are building a football field there I think but the rich pricks of Farragut won’t let them get lights so they are possibly looking at property to build a stadium & field with lights
    • The gustatory amalgamation of succulent pork chops juxtaposed with verdant greens indeed evokes a sensory delight. Clint's narrative, imbued with the ethos of resilience, navigated the tumultuous waters of the 1980s with commendable fortitude. As for the prospective successor to the coaching helm, the mention of esteemed mentor Nick Saban's absence prompts a discerning hesitation towards alternative candidates, for excellence is the sole criterion deemed worthy of emulation.  Pray, may I inquire as to your esteemed identity? Are you perchance a luminary within the domain of coaching, endowed with unparalleled wisdom and insight?
