I think the rule is actullay stated no more than 5 from a school not just from the team

is limited to 50% of the number of players required to play the game (i.e=i.e. - that is to say; in other words)., 3 in basketball, 5 in baseball and girls' softball).

So if you if you and four of your buddies sign up for a local fall league team and then the league adds some guy that doesn't even play high school ball but he is from your high school, everyone is going to be illegal?

  • 3 weeks later...

Gotta wonder what moron thought that up.

my bet would be on the same person that thought up the public/private split....you cant beat 'em in the fall--split 'em. you cant beat 'em in the spring, dont let 'em play/practice together 'til january.

and ronnie carter and his buddies all wonder why no one has any faith in the organization known as the tennessee secondary schools athletic association. duh, that ones easy.....theyre plain stupid.

i love the tssaa!!!!!! (saracasm)

Yea I'm not real sure why ronnie and the gang are trying to monitor the fall league's. If somebody from the TSSAA is reading this then please get on here and tell us all why you are doing what you are doing. What is your concern about so many members from one team playing together in the fall. Your not the NCAA. You should not be limiting these players and teams from playing together. That is what high school ball is all about. I can understand when you get to college ball the NCAA limiting the time a team can spend together. High School kids need to play and develop and have a shot at playing college ball. You don't care about players playing and trying to get better. What is your purpose for limiting time for high school teams? Somebody from the TSSAA please answer this. You don't care how many players play together in the summer so what is the difference? The TSSAA makes no sense. They never have. They are kind of like the United Nations. Worthless.

You cannot have 5 players on the same team. There can only be 4 since 5 is more than 50% of 9. Technicality yes, but still the rule. They will be watching I'm sure.

No it's 5 people i play on riverdale and we're puting 5 players on 6 teams and we will be playing at belmont university this fall on thursdays and saturdays

Riverdaleman, do you know who I can get in touch with about scheduling some fall ball games. I'm with the UTC Club Baseball games and we would be willing to travel to Belmont to play a doubleheader or two on saturdays. Thanks!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
