East has the power to be good, but that antiquated offensive scheme will keep them from moving past round 3 usually. East and West need to ditch the veer or wang t either one. You have to be balanced to get by the Red Rebels of the world these days....

 

East has one of the best LB's in East TN returning.

 

 

West hasn't ran the veer since Chrisman left, and I am pretty sure they haven't ran the Wing-t since Bragg stopped coaching.

 

I am just not sure what you are talking about.

Out of town last week. How has the team looked in pads? Will the new turf be readly for friday scrimmage?

Someone needs to double check the Science Hill scrimmage time,( 2:30pm friday Aug 10) I got the time at 6:00pm

The new turf looks great, I can't wait to see East's play on it. Go Canes!

I don't think they will be on the turf for the scrimmage friday. The sched. issued says 2:30 @ science hill but i'll check on it for you.

The offense looks like they have really good timing to be this early. The special teams are going to be great. The D looks solid especially the secondary and lb's. They go 11 0n 11 today and i'll let you know how they look.

Good question and i do not know the answer. The field is about 95% completed but knowing hamblen co school board, they probably will NOT let the teams on it. I think both teams should be allowed to practice some on the field.

I hope we are ready for tonight scrimmage. I can't remember the last time Morristown East was picked ahead

of Morristown West, as far as the team to beat. We are no longer the underdog, East's will need to bring it like-Maryville & Morristown West. They win just about every year. Will this be the year of the Canes?( I hope so)

 

 

 

Note: Will anyone miss today scrimmage.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
