The Ooltewah information is correct. In the tourney, CCS uses the old penalty kick format (ball placed 35 yds out, shooter vs keeper, with five seconds to shoot). Ooltewah should have won the game outright, in my humble opinion. They gave up the tying goal with a couple of minutes left but really played better than Centennial, moving the ball around well and possessing for the majority of the match. I am glad the better team won in PK's. It was 3-1 in PK's because:

CHS shooter 1 - missed

OHS shooter 1 - missed

CHS shooter 2 - missed

OHS shooter 2 made

CHS shooter 3 - made

OHS shooter 3 - made

CHS shooter 4 - missed

OHS shooter 4 - made

Officials called match after Ooltewah's fourth shooter as it was impossible for CHS to tie or win on PK's at that point.

Yes, that is correct. Even though Ooltewah won the game in PK's, it is officially a tie during regular season....

Morgan Shelton has 16 goals on the season after last night's win against Hixson.

Morgan Shelton has a lot more than seven goals at this point in the season. I will double-check, but I believe that she has 14 (maybe 16?) after last night's win against Hixson.

If you look at the headings at the top of the stats, the number 7 refers to number of games played, then it has her number of goals as 13.

In general these stats are "ok", but really, unless you at least get a point average by dividing points by number of games, it doesn't really show the range of "point leaders", and as always, you have to understand the competition played to earn the "points" for it to really, really have much worth anyway.

But congrats to all as they contribute to their high school soccer programs, and represent their team/high school.

Soddy and Ooltewah tied 0-0. Should be an interesting post-season for them. I would think it would come down to Cleveland, Soddy and Ooltewah in the region tournament. Only two move on.

I also wouldn't count out McMinn Co. and Red Bank but the other three have to be favored at this point.

CCS plays ND next Tuesday.

I believe several other ranked teams will match up in the next few weeks. Can anyone beat Baylor?

I agree, Chatt. But I also know that Morgan is an all-state player and deserving of the credit given her.

Just thought I'd mention a nice resource of pictures for teams that have played Ooltewah..

Mr. Bruce Cobb takes pictures of the team and their games and puts them up on his webshots site.

Webshots gallery

Hey go and look at or buy some of the pics

There are pics of OHS games against Soddy Daisy, Hixson, CCS and CSAS.

Oh yeah and the Chattanoogan has a little gallery for the OHS - SDHS game 9/13

OHS vs SDHS 9/13/07
