USJ vs. Humbolt

Hardegree is for real, but missed on several passes, especially in the 2nd quarter that could have made a difference in the game. I know that's being picky, but when you put the offense on one person's shoulders, then they get most of the criticism.

 

I heard Shivers has a slight ankle sprain, but should play this week, which is a non-region game, so it must not be too serious.

 

Here are my critiques and positives for both teams (for what it's worth):

 

USJ - Hardegree can definitely throw the football. If Buckley can get them just 50-60 yards a game (he had 2 yds on Friday), they will beat some people this year in that region. On the down side, their OL held Humboldt consistently all night but didn't get the calls. If they get an officiating crew that does make the calls, it will be a long night for Bill.

 

Humboldt - Ran the football straight ahead all night and their defense didn't get frustrated even while giving up 300+ on 40+ passing attempts. On their down side, they have to figure out how to get Epperson more than two offensive touches a night. The kid is a beast and USJ's linebackers were bouncing off him on a WR screen at one point.

 

I can definitely see both teams in the playoffs. But I can say the same for Westview, Trenton, Milan, and MAYBE JCS as well.

Very nice synopsis. Six playoff caliber teams in one region, wow. This might be the toughest this region has been since the multiplier?

It is a rough region with only 3 teams for sure to advance. I truly believe that this region will get 1 of the wildcards maybe 2. There are going to be 5 given out and I can't see one going to region 9 or 7. JMO.

 

Humboldt was fortunate to get the W by the way it sounds.
