How Bad Will Lake County Pummel Union City?

All right Guys and Gals, vacations over!

I hope I overlooked something, cause we are getting pretty weak on our posting if "I" have to start a thread!

I'm calling Lake County for the dubbya on Friday.

I like that Union City is comming of a loss to a better team, which should ultimately be good for them.

But I think Lake County is ready to step up it's defense, and offense is starting to click, we just need to keep that QB safer in the pocket, and push through the tired on offense.

Let's hear from ya'll!

union city beats lake county by 2 TD's.......easily. i saw lake county against obion and obion is very down, but obion was able to do whatever they wanted. this will not be a game!!!!

I was going to start a thread on this game..but I wasn't going to use the word pummel..I believe Lake Co will win in a close game..,U.C. played a tougher team but from the stats I saw only had 3 yards rushing against Westview on about 13 attempts..I'm hoping they don't have the speed at running back and quarterback that Trenton and Fulton had..I'm saying they don't..Lake Co 28-14

Bogan didn't play in that game..Not only would he have helped on defense..but would have pounded Central on a lot of those short yardage situations..That means Lake Co would have controlled the ball more and Central wouldn't have been able to score..Plus..the plays Central scores on..there wasn't anyone out at the ends or corners..I could have scored..Correctable mistakes..Which is what they did against Fulton Co..I don't believe any of the Central backs are any faster than the Fulton Co backs..There's no way we would have caught them if they reached our secondary..but they didn't.I'm anxious to see the score between U.C. and Lake Co and U.C. -Central..In a real game..not a scrimmage or a jamboree..Then we 'll talk!

Nice Butchie...nice.

I was beginnin' to think I was the only one here!

I ain't skeered but I thought Id have to go it alone!

First off, I really like the word pummel, and think it should be used more often on this site.

I would also like too see, while I'm at it, "lambaste", "scourge", and "castigate".

I also agree with legend that this will be a very close contest.

The Falcons win but I don't know about any pummeling. I like those other words you used. I will have to add them to my repertoire...

Ok Folks, I was at the Union City / Westview game and have not seen Lake County play. I was told Lake Co. will throw the ball alot this year. We will see. Union City on the other hand ( dispite what some of you folks are saying ) did manage to stay with Martin Westview for 2 1/2 quarters and only 6 yards difference on total offense at the half, Union City should be able to do a few things the Falcons might not be able to catch up on early. This is why Union city was able to keep Westview off guard for the first half.

I don't know how the game will unfold but if Union City doesn't shoot themselves in the foot with delay of game penalties and have ball control, the Tornados should prevail.

Also, Union City's main back was out the entire second half ( which Really didn't matter ) and I think we will run and throw on the Falcon.

The do have lots of talent as they always do, but if this game does come down to coaching, the edge goes to the Purple and Gold.

Hope both teams play a injury free game and may the best team win. I do believe this game will already be playing for 3rd or 4th play down the road unless Bruceton or McKenzie has some problems.

Look for UNion City to turns some heads this Friday night and maybe into the season and yes, the Westview 2 1/2 quarters will be something the coach builds on this week in practice.

I disagree with one major point in that post. If it comes down to coaching, I firmly believe LC has the edge in that department.

I'm not going to make a prediction on this game because I don't know much about what UC has this year. But I do know that LC will put some points on the board. If they can play a little defense, I like their chances.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
