What is the take on this match up? Both teams are coming off their first win in their respective regions. Shelbyville knocked off Lawrence County in a high scoring affair. Kenwood beat Beech with a sloppy offensive performance in a turnover infested defensive oriented game. This should be another good road test for the Knights, who will return home for 3 straight home games starting the next week.

Should be an interesting game next week. Kenwood always has good athletes and is a sound team. Shelbyville is still very young but improving. The eagles finally got over the hump with their first win and hopefully the momentum will keep going. Go eagles.

I WAS WRONG ON THE OUTCOME, BUT I HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THE KNIGHTS. "LET THE TRUMPETS SOUND B/C THE BLOWING WILL BEGIN SHORTLY. KENWOOD IS WAY OVERRATED!!! THE OFFENSIVE LINE IS SLOW AND MISSES ALL OF THE IMPORTANT BLOCKS WHILE THE QB/WR CREW TEND TO STAY COVERED LIKE A BLANKET. IT'S EASY TO BEAT TEAMS SUCH AS THEIR 1ST TWO. MAYBE EVERYBODY WILL WAKE UP AFTER THE SLIGHT KNIGHTS PLAY A REAL TEAM. I CANT PREDICT ANY SCORE FOR THIS WEEK. WHEN TWO CLOWNS PLAY TOGETHER, IT SEEMS TO LOOK LIKE A CIRCUS INSTEAD OF A FOOTBALL GAME. GOOD LUCK TO BOTH TEAMS. I HOPE THE KNIGHTS CAN SHOW ME SOMETHING OTHER THAN 1A FOOTBALL SCRIMAGES.

I don't consider either team as "Clowns"............good luck to both teams

im not a fan of kenwood, i actually dont like them, but im not sure that they are overrated, i dont think they are as good as people say, but they are a good team, but you are right, they havent got to the mt. juliets and clakrsvilles and good teams (ask me, they have a pretty easy schedule, could win 7 8 games this year) yet, so im not sure how good they are, got to see them play a little bit more, but they are a pretty good team though, just not what everybody thinks they are

actually bigshuman, kenwood played shelbyville in 1999 and in 2000, with the knights winning in 1999 32-15 and losing a barn burner in shelbyville 34-32 or something like that. to the purple guy who keeps talking, we at kenwood want you to keep talking about us this way... we want to be the underdogs...we will just continue to improve on ourselves week after week and hopefully we will make the playoffs. i can promise you this, the knights will take in one week at a time or the old cliche, ONE RUNG AT A TIME. and by the way, where do you get off say it is 1a football. i can tell you one thing, BEECH will win a ton of football games this year. Coach Crabtree has those boys ready week in and week out and they are a very good football team. they have lots of speed. And by the way... GOOD TEAMS FIND A WAY TO WIN, when things are not clicking on all cylinders.

Actually Mac, I did some more research as this web site seems to be inaccurate. In 1999 Kenwood played Shelbyville in Clarksville. Knights won 29-15. In 2000 Kenwood traveled to Shelbyville and lost 32-29. At least that is what the program from the 2000 Kenwood Football banquet reads. Regardless, it should be a great game.

yes kenwoo is big and strong and they will probably finish in the top 2 in the region, havent got to the meat of the schedule, thats when we will really see how good they are, if they are good as they seem they wont do what they did last year (play easy first half (other than henry county) then lose last 4 against top teams in region) i dont think they will fall off like they did last year, watch out (even though im not a fan of them) how good is shelbyville, will they give them a challenge.

      Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?

      Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
