Cheatham Co. at Lipscomb

Next week is one of my favorite weeks of the season. The Cheatham Co. Cubs go on the road to play the Lipscomb Mustangs. The Cubs are 0-3 on the season while Lipscomb is 3-0. These two teams are THE ONLY 2 TEAMS IN REGION 5-3A to qualify for the playoffs over the last two years (while the current region has been in existence). Coach McAdams & Coach Finley are great friends and these two staffs get along with one another very well. I expect this game to be a good battle. The Cubs are looking to get healthy and bounce back from two ugly defeats over the last two weeks. The Mustangs are looking to stay perfect in the region and keep their title hopes very much alive (though Giles & Marshall both look tougher thus far).

THIS ONE IS GOING TO BE A CLEAN THREAD SO PLEASE KEEP THE PUBLIC VS PRIVATE DEBATE AND ANYTHING ELSE MEANINGLESS OFF OF HERE BECAUSE ALL I WANT TO READ IS USEFUL POSTINGS FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE SOMEWHAT INTERESTED IN THE GAME!!!!

Now BC, if Bulldog stays off, there won't be any Public/Private debate...but we can't promise that "anything else meaningless" won't show up. Its still a Lipscomb thread with Bomb Squad and the McEverythings may show up. You know if you mention something in a Lipscomb thread..it is taken to the third degree. Its hard to change history.

Coach Mac and the staff does have a tremendous respect for the Cheatham County Staff. The Lipscomb staff always like competing with teams who are well coached and well prepared...it makes for a good game. Thats why Lipscomb likes to be in the same company with the staffs at Cheatham County, Greebrier, and White House. Win or lose all coaches and teams can shake hands and wish each other well and mean it. Lipscomb being the new guy in 3A is still trying to establish that same relationship with our other region mates.

Cheatham County fans will want to visit the Mustangfanpage and check out the Facilities page as the parking procedures have changed. The Game Day staff invites all the CCC fans to come early and tailgate or come in and visit our concession stand and eat. New concessionaire and some new items on the menu. Also, we are hopeful that our satelite concession stand will be open to better serve our visiting crowd. If CCC crowd want to mix and mingle with the Lipscomb folks before the game, have them join us inside the gate in the picnic area.

TO CCC Fans: Its Chuck Ross who will be seated at the gate. Chuck is available to pose with you for pictures. Can't miss Chuck and he loves to pose with new friends. If you are nice to Chuck, he'll officially pull for your team when they are not playing Lipscomb. If you bring him a CCC tee-shirt he'll even wear it at times (need 2xl) He'll thank you for any CCC Sports swag. Peter Powell's Lipscomb Game Day notes will be posted on the Mustangfanpage either Wednesday Night or Thursday. Scouting Reports should be up by Tuesday.

Now vandy...please leave the Bulldog out of this....you instigated most of the last one and you know it . By the way, WAKM will only focus on Franklin High as a priority for broadcasts.

On a FOOTBALL note, the way things are shaking out in the region....it Looks like GC and DL in the top two spots with MC close behind. I think that Cheatham, Spring Hill, Creekwood, and Page battle it out for the 4th spot in the playoffs.

Cheatham, Page, and Creekwood all have injury issues at this point and obviously Spring Hill is young and not near as deep. Whichever one gets healthy will take that spot.

Big Country, as much as I would love to see CC pull the upset, I don't see it happening with DL's speed and talent.

Unless the Cubs get Potts back at QB, they won't stand a fighting chance. Even if they do have him, as athletic as he is, it probably won't be enough to beat a very, very solid Lipscomb team. Cheatham has to rebuild after losing the likes of Joey Beech, Cory Randolph, Kevin Elliot, etc. while Lipscomb just reloads year in and year out.

Lipscomb- 56

Cheatham- 13

I don't think it matters whether Garrett Potts is back or not , there's always a chance. It's a TEAM effort not just the QB.
