LaVergne has the defending div. 5 open state champion marching band and McGavock is a mutiple time state largest div. winner iirc...a good game plus 2 good bands at the half - what's not to like about that? Easily worth 6 bucks.

If McGavock hung tough with Hunters Lane, LHS will have to work for it...it won't be a cakewalk.

 

Still don't see a big chance of an upset in this one.

This matchup brings two of the largest high schools in the state. LaVergne will be looking to send a message. Look for them to win big in this one.

I don't don't how big they will, but any win to get past last week (going into an off week) would be a good win.

 

I think it may be tough if they come out flat, but hopefully that won't happen.

LHS 49 - McGavock 7

 

(there was a point in the 2nd quarter where LaVergne was literally on pace to end up with about 90 points for the game...they fumbed deep in McGavock territory late in the 1st half or they would have had 49 at the half)

Great game tonight.

 

 

Score could have been 10 times worse..but we did what we went there to do.

 

We also proved that it doesn't matter who the QB is on the field. Our receivers are gonna go get it.

 

5 TD passes, 4 different WR's, 2 different QB's..

 

 

I think they really turned some heads last night.

 

Tillery did his job too. Is there a record for most consecutive 100-yd games? He's at a good pace with 6. Offensive MVP?

 

The defense did great. A lot of people stepped up tonight. Especially Jeremy Durrett and Zach Looney. Both with INT's, Durrett took it back. He also had about 3 sacks and one for a forced fumble. Secondary did good.

 

Last night was the most relaxed I've seen our team. We have to keep working though.

 

It's about to get heated in the region.
