Sparta Boy you must really have an axe to grind. I played for Coach Brown his first year at Bledsoe (it was my Sr. year so I only played for him 1 year). We had been down for a few years prior to him coming and it took him a few years to really start winning, but a few things were certain. We were in shape, disciplined, played hard, and would hit. Coach Brown has done a good job everywhere he has been and is a class act. I have a great deal of respect and appriciation for he and his wife. My name gives who I am away to the folks around Bledsoe County, but since people on this thread don't know (or care) who I am my name is Eric Swafford (not that it matters any I just don't like to see people bash others and not tell who they are...that is just me). Good luck Clay County this Friday and the rest of the way through. Go get 'um coach!

I must admit I didn't ever hear of coach brown before now,but he seems to have the Bulldogs headed in the right direction.Did the Bulldogs pick up any players when hermitage springs merged with Clay Co. I believe the Dogs are off to a better start than they have been in a while.I hope it is a good game and injury free.I have to pull for my Jackets but it could be a close one either way.

I sure hope so dogpound. It will not be a easy one tonight. we've got to execute football fundamentals tonight & keep the discipline here on out. I spoke with a few players last night at the district VB tournament. They're ready. one game at a time.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
