Now 7AAA fans, how about taking a short breather and let this poster post some scores and comments about tonites games. There were some surprises and lets recap what happened. this poster may be duplicating some of the events.

Cookeville 49

Blackman 38

Blackman played Cookeville close with Brown leading the scoring for Blackman with 13 and Masters leading Cookeville with 17. This game is as expected with Blackman shutting down Cookevilles inside game and not being able to handle Masters inside. Neither team really scores high but this one had to be a very hard fought game.

Riverdale 50

Lebanon 26

While many have known Brooks at point guard has been been a very good player for LHS this year, another injury to her other leg took her out of the game the first quarter and it appeared LHS could not recover. I. Elie led LHS with 12 and Riverdale was led by Burgess with 16, lanning with 12 and Davis with 10.

White 49

Oakland 34

White was led by Cash with 18 and Ysalas with 14. Oakland was led by Ward with 14.

Siegel 71

Warren 48

Warren was led, as been the case lately, by Bowman with 14 and Frazier with 12. the game was a very fast paced game and both teams played a lot of players. Siegel was led by Faulkner with 17, Waggoner with 14 and a lot of rebounds, and Allison Wright continuing to get stronger with 12.

The standings are as follows:

Cookeville 10-2

Riverdale 10-2

Lebanon 8-4

Siegel 8-4

Blackman 5-7

White 4-7

Warren 2-9

Oakland 0-12

As many of you know, next weeks games are very important in the standing to determine the seedings for the District Tournament.

Lebanon took a 4-0 lead to start the game and trailed only 8-6 after the 1st quarter. 2nd quarter Riverdale outscored LHS 17-4 with Swoape hitting a 3 and Natalie Lanning knocking down 2 from beyond the arc. Riverdale came out after halftime and Swoape hit her 2nd 3 and Lanning dropped in 2 more and the game was over. Lebanon struggled handling the ball with around 20 turnovers for the game. Brooks was not injured in the game. She went back to the doctor and was told that her ACL was worse than had been thought and she is done for the year. I believe my information is correct because it came from a very reliable source. This is a very tough break for Lebanon heading into very important games with Siegel and Cookeville next week. With Brooks heallthy I think Lebanon was a lock for the region, but without her they will struggle to get past either Blackman or White County in the opening round of district play. I think they can still make it, but the odds sure got tougher with this injury. At least they are already assured of a 1st round game at home, which is a definite advantage.

Well, our girls won by more this time{15 points} than last time{9 points}. Good job Warriorettes! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Keep it going against Warren tomorrow night. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

We all can read between the lines 85. So what your trying to say is they done better without Roberts tonight. You think that lineup is the key to winning the rest of the games sparta has left 85? I think wilson did a great job esp rebounding. The other post players seem to just take off to go play offence. Wilson crashed the boards. She rebounded and they got to score, it worked. Good job girls. Keep it up. btw Cash had a great game too.

BadHat, I stand corrected on the injury situation with Brooks. As you really know more than anyone, Brooks has meant a lot to the LHS team at point. Your evaluation of the game is very good and it appears RD it now making a run for first in the District but LHS will have a lot to say in who wins first place. this poster is sure your information is reliable but with the season this year, it has been one of players finding ways to come back after an injury. That's the way seniors playing in their last year in HS think and anything can happen. Maybe we will all find out Tuesday night when LHS goes to meet Siegel @ Siegel.

Like I've said before Wilson may have more grit than her whole class put together.

Sparta Boy read this very carefully. Im not complainig, but I do feel like we should still handle this team a little easier than we did, although we didnt have our point guard.

With that said, Great job girls.

And one note to earlybird: decide which side of the fence your on and stay on it!

I think the Bird has been pretty straight forward. Spartaman is the one that gets on here and makes stupid comments like he knows there are three players sitting on the bench better than Josh Brown. I'm still waiting for some names. You can figure out who those players are while I figure out what side of the fence I'm on.

Without intentionally getting involved in ANYTHING this time of the year, it would be a good time to recognize those players on each team that might or might not be a part time starter or not a starter during the year and has fit the Team's needs to fit in Roles that has benefited the team during this season. While no one can name players on all teams although some might be able to on more than one team, recognition of these players who are making a great contribution will be able to be made by the fans on this thread. This poster can think of players on more than one team that have come in as a sub and play exceptionally in a specific role and stand out. No bashing please as opinions are such.

Because of the nature of those posters on this thread, now might be a good time to recognize the school whose concession stand has more than fulfilled the food needs of the local fans but the fans of the visiting teams which attend the games. This poster can, with fond memories, remember times this year when the concession stand aromas at half times, have drawn 100's and deserve recognition for the food and service.

Homecoming is always a special time especially in the winter when Basketball Homecomint erupts. At the WarrenCounty/Siegel game last night after the girls game, a Homecoming presentation broke out and was one of the most well done that this poster has seen in the last few years. The Siegel Womens Corale, before the game, made a singing presentation of the National Anthem which was special. There looked to be over 100 voices singing and the singers included even those with basketball uniforms on as members of the team were included. Even the event itself had players included with and without uniforms. Siegel knows how to put on events like this. Every one who has anything to do with the planning and presentation looks as if they have not only done it before but pay great attention to details. And at the center of the planning, Siegel's Principal Nolan has expected events such as the one last night, to be first class. So it was.

Many schools, at this time of the year, go thru the same presentations. The presentation is a time when graduates come back and visit, see the presentation, and see the current edition of the Athletics. If any who read this have not been to an event like this, it would be a good time to do so and show the support of your school.

Next week concludes the 7AAA District Regular Season Play. This poster thinks it would be a good time to go by your local school and see the great Girls Basketball Players that have not only played this year but have played the last four years. There are not only some great players but some fine student athletes who are taking a leadership function at their schools. Look at the above schedule and not only look at next weeks schedule but the following weeks schedule of non District games and of course the following week to see the 7AAA District Tournament at the site of the top four seeded teams in the final standings of the regular season to start with and at Lebanon High School for the Semi Finals and Finals.
