Yes !! The "Swami" Is here and is ready to make his all insightful predictions for the final games of the regular season tommorrow night!!! "Swami sees Red- hot White County going into Blackman and coming away with a hard fought 4 point victory. Oakland will come to my house, but my lady Pioneers will not be in a loving mood , and will dispatch the lady patriots back to the Boro with zero district wins for the year. Pioneers by 8. Cookeville will make the trip to Lebanon a successful one with a 18 point win, and finally, in a real battle, Riverdale gets the home win over Siegel by 5. The "swami" has spoken !! Read em and cry like a baby !!!!!!

Here are the picks out of the BadHat: Cookeville by 25 over a struggling Lebanon squad, Siegel pulls off a 2 pt. squeaker and gets the 2nd seed, Blackman shuts down White County and wins by 5 to secure the 5th seed, and Warren County survives a scare and keeps Oakland winless with a 4 point home win to close out the season.

The District has a regular season winner and what a finish to one of the best competitions in years. Cookeville wins over Lebanon 51-34 as Helton winds up with 16 followed by Masters and Davidson with 11. And it must have been some battle against the Twin Towers as I.Elie had 15 and L. Ellie had 9. White and Blackman had a slugfest and White won 40-35. Cash led the White County team in scoring.

Oakland slipped up on Warren 56-52 and the scoring is not available at this time.

Johnny Parsley Memorial was again the stage for another Battle of the Burro that had a lot riding on the result. Again Coaches Bert and Bush brought their teams to the floor with Riverdale beginning to think about the defense of last years State Championship AAA and again Siegel beginning to mend and get well from a number of injuries at the beginning of the season. The crowd was large but the teams should have played before a packed house. Siegel shot lights out from all angles and their defense was as Coach Alan Bush predicted. Riverdale was trying to defend second place and Both teams were looking at the first competition of the tournament and the seedings and were trying to avoid White or Blackman who seem to be the two hottest teams in the District at this time. Allison Wright started out the scoring with the first 8 of Siegels points and soon after it rained threes for both teams as Morgan Faulkner seemed to be a step ahead of Riverdale at every point they tried to catch up. It was a hard fought game. Late in the third, Riverdale had made their wahy back to be down only 7 points when Faulkner hit two straight threes from the West end of the Riverdale parking lot which was followed by some good scoring and rebounding by Clair Waggoner and it was Siegel 68-51 over riverdale. Riverdale was led by Clarke Davis with 14 and Swope with 11. But for Davis fouling out in games during the season, Riverdale was looking for a better fate and finished tied with Siegel for second place due to the Stars winning both of the encounters during regulare season. Faulkner led the scoring with 24 followed by Waggoner with 13, A. Wright with 11 and Cason with 20 as Siegel had one of their best showings offensively for the season.

BadHat and the Swami were both 2-2. We both missed Oakland/Warren County. I missed Blackman/White County and the Swami missed Siegel/Riverdale. Not a great not for the prognosticators. Lebanon/Cookeville was closer than the score indicates. Lebanon trialed by just 2 at half and only by 6 at the end of 3 quarters. Cookeville was plagued by foul problems (Helton,Davidson, and Bartlett all had 3 fouls before the half-time) and poor free throw shooting (2-12 in the 1st half). Lebanon hung in there, but finally ran out of gas with about 4 minutes left and Cookeville finally was able to put the game away.
