How is Camden not in the top ten when they've played Milan and losy by seven to them, Lost to Westveiw by 6, and beat Huntingdon. The AP has absolutely no credibility if ya ask me. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Camden is Most definately in the top ten in 2a. Though they may not be in the top five they are certainly in the top ten. This wack, but good work.

I agree. Camden is a very good team. Don't worry so much about these rankings. Not being ranked in the AP top ten (even though you should be) might work to your advantage when you reach the playoffs.

They have two losses to 2a teams. Unless those teams were Alcoa and Goodpasture, I'm pretty sure that any team with two such losses would be left out of the top ten.

Well that statement would hold true if they were completely blown out. The Lions played played Milan and Westveiw and lost to those teams by 6 points a piece, and that would keep them out of the top ten. That makes no sense, unless high school goes by the BCS system now. I know for a fact thaT Camden can beat both those of teams, and they will if they see them again. With that bein said Camden is a top ten team no doubt.

You said it yourself that high schools don't go by the BCS system, so why does it matter if Camden is ranked at all? They could be the 32nd out of the 32 teams that make the playoffs and they would still have a chance to win it all.

please tell me why CPA is not in 2A top ten when DCA is. need i remind that CPA beat DCA by 16 points!

Seriously, I guess this poll doesn't take strength of schedule into consideration. Alcoa should be #1. They lost to the #15 school in the USA and are 3 time defending state champs. CPA should at least be #7 if not higher if this poll was based on anything other than the teams record.

The AP voters from all of those media outlets have favorites jp1952 and that is why certain teams will always be ranked in the poll no matter if they lost to a team that is equal or better than they are.

Polls are meaningless. Playoffs is all that counts to me.

i probably should have figured that out. At least knows DCA who should be ahead of them

Wow what was I thinking I was at both of those games, hmmmmmm. But thanks for the correction it makes Camden look a wee bit better, especially considering we should have won both. But oh well I don't suppose AP poll means anything when the time to play comes.

My bad, I think you are correct. Still very surprised they are in the top 10.

I'm not were undefated at 7-0 and we have a chance at going to state and another thing we

are one of the most underrated teams in 2-A we have blown away everyone but claiborne (W 36-35)

people need to start watching us play we have the top passing offenses in the whole state of

Tennessee and we have a great rushing attack and great defense to i smell a state championship

Old Pirate says sounds about right, but who really cares? The ones that leave M/boro are the only rankings OP is worried about.

OP is just curious how many are private & public. OP sees possibly 7 private and 23 public?

Personally, I'd like to see Hampton ranked way ahead of South Pittsburg and possible South Pittsburg ranked about 10. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
