Campbell County @ Dobyns Bennett

Recommended Posts

Ok, the team did not mean to be over on the DB side line.. where ever the ball is kicked the team goes, it happened to go to that side, and the crap everyone is saying about the coaching staff is non sence, the ref brought a police officer over there because i DB fan was threating the coaching staff.. Coach Wells has the up most resecpt for DB and the staff, maybe becuase they are the only team that dont look over us! But i think DB just has to much talent for us.. We could match up with them in the skill positions but not up front.. I hate to see people talk bad about this campbell county team, they play there hearts out every game! and i thats how they are taught to play. and the players that are playing.. thoses are the best they have in the school.. i just hope we can re-group and get a win against karns and get in the PLAYOFFS! GO COUGARS and good luck to Db in the playoffs

I was talking about during warmups...what kick are you referring to?

The Kpt Police officer was called in because of a CC fan threat to the CC coach. That was what the officer said. Why would he make it up? And they made a point on he radio broadcast to clarify that it was NOT a DB fan.

The kick was in warm ups the team goes down to where the returner catches the ball it could have been on our side line too, i can promise you it was not ment to be on DB side line.. and yeah it was a DB fan who was talking to coach wells, the side ref ask coach wells if he wanted a escort and he said no but they brought a officer over there to make sure nothing got out of hand. like i said we have the yup most respect for DB and would never stomp on there "ground". Good luck the rest of the season and in the playoffs.

Came over from C.H. to watch the game since SSHS played Thur-------wondered about the police officer incident. Also, was reading Tri Cities Sports web page and saw the DB players of the game?????? Interesting, don't know much about the players but #18 and #15 were all over the field making tackles but no mention of them in the player announcements?? Good luck rest of the way---hopefully SSHS and DB can do well in playoffs.

Good observation. There are a few who showboat and hold the game up trying to play hurt so they can be players of the week,or do their end of the game interview with T Taylor.Alot of players play their hearts out ever week.

Lets see now...... What your saying is, a few players on the DB squad are showboating just to get a award from a Transvestite ? And everybody knows its a huge career boost to get a interview with Tom Taylor!

It really seems to me that all DB players are playing their hearts out right now. And the Coaches are doing a great job as well. A big game coming up Friday night.

And that pass to #10 was a pass interference call, what is your problem? I can't imagine how you acted when our team lost three straight games because all you do is complain when we win. Why would we move our best reciever to QB when our QB has been producing like crazy?

I'm not sure why you have 10 back on punts when he spent first part of the week on crutches. He is lucky he got up from one of those punts. Once again, 100 strong but only a select few play. Number 10 will cost DB on a punt return. He doesnt know when to get away from one and when to field one. brain

I have been out of town but got to see the game this week. I must say I have noticed some of the kids after they make a play and they want the crowd to know who it was. All that is a kid being a kid and I think we have done that at one point and time. I was vey frustrated at the beginning of the year with the type of offense DB was playing, but the kids still were giving 100%. I feel the team can win a couple of playoff games. A key to this post season is we have been fortunate with injuries. I know we have some kids banged up, but they want to play.

Who did you see showboating? And who do you think faked an injury? All the kids did good. CC team to me was showing bad sportsmanship because they were losing. Are you a DB fan?

I was sitting in the same section where the fan was yelling at the coach........HE WAS NOT FROM CC!!!!!!!!!! That is 100%

Funny...we have never had to have a police escort for any other opposing coaches. So he was "yelling"? Can you elaborate on how "yelling" req'd the KPD to blanket the coach? And the police said it 100% was not a DB fan....hmmm.

First of all tell me where in my reply I said it was a DB fan.......Believe it or not there are some arrogant young punks who like to go to games to stir crap up.....the person was not cheering for either team during the whole game.........Second of all there never should of been a cop ask to come on the field....The game was almost over....I am sure he could handle a random person yelling at him....The ref decided to intervene and he did.

By the way..I just saw where I used the word "fan" in my last post....shouldn't have used that word...should have used spectator.....I can see how you thought I was implying it was a DB fan....sorry for that confusion....good luck the rest of the way!

I was just trying to get some clarification since you were sitting there. The team played tough and it didn't make sense that the CC fans would be riding the coach. Likewise, that was the visitor side and it didn't make sense that a DB "fan" would be over there stirring things up. Anyway, good luck to the Cougars.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
