I would say Sullivan East. Because before Coach Nelson got thier they had only had 2 five-hundred seasons and never made the playoffs but now they have had three out the last four have been over 5 and two of them 6 wins plus. And thier always one of the top 5 teams in the confrence, something never imaginable at East. This year will be the second time ever they have been to the playoffs since 2004 which was the first.

 

On the flip side of this I think Elizbethton rapidly declining as a top contender in the MLC

Well, look at the Five Rivers, its competitive. (If the Devils lucked up then I'll take luck anyday. Look back at the stats of that game too, Greeneville lost three fumbles inside their red-zone.) The MLC bottom half is terrible. Besides Cocke County and Crockett, the Five Rivers is a solid conference. I can't wait until the playoffs, and we'll see. You worry about your DB Indians making it past the first round of the playoffs this year. I know my Devils haven't made it the last two, but thats a different story this year.

 

Also look at the schedule that each of the MLC teams play. Do they venture out of state, they barely venture out ot Sullivan County.

Chattanooga Brainerd gets my vote for most improved in 4A, while William Blount is my pick in 5A.

The Clinton Dragons finally seem to be turning the corner and playing competive football.

 

They are somewhat better, however I think that corner that is being turned only leads to a brick wall. I believe that Stone and his dad will leave and look for a better showcase for his talent. This will leave the Dragons in trouble for a QB next year. Good Luck Dragons with the rest of the season.

Father Ryan was 3-7 two years ago and is now 8-0 and may be heading for 10-0. Best turnaround by far in this state.

William Blount is the most overall improved team by far. This year the ave came the closest to beating Maryville in a while and I look for them to go far in playoffs.
