Run or Pass , Teams on top

It would be interesting to see what this year's top teams are doing. Is this the year for the run or the pass? Teams play to their strength every year, just interested in what is working best for the state's top teams.

I would say that the best teams are pretty balanced. I`ll say this though, just like college from what I`ve seen a lot more teams are running a spread offense.

Riverdale is doing what they have always done. Running at you like a wall moving down the field. Sort of boring, but they use it like the energizer Bunny. It just keeps scoring and scoring and scoring........

Now that the season is over it is interesting to see what the teams in the playoffs are doing on offense. Antioch-run, HL-run,Overton-run,Franklin-run,Brentwood-run,Independence-run,Dickson Co.-run,Wilson Central-run,Riverdale-run, Mt.Juliet-run, Any other thoughts?

Millington, run. Whitehaven and White Station are both more balanced attack teams ( not saying that's good or bad ). Houston seemed to be somewhat run oriented , with but also had a well developed passing game.

Never forget Air Smyrna though.

 

Also for a TEAM to be really good and a major threat with the run they need to have multiple backs so the defense cannot concentrate on just one. That is where R'dale has been so successful this year as they may not have a 1000 yard rusher, they DO have about 6 backs with 500 or MORE yards for the season.

Very good point Old Dad. Defense has to be kept guessing, and you need fresh backs. With a good O line, it makes it very hard for the defense , especially late in the game.
