I just don't understand.. how in the world that Rhea Co. says he is close to the team and everything when in truth he isn't a player so he's not i mean sure a coach is the controler of the team but not part of it.. and instead of backing up the team Rhea Co. continually fights with m4rcut why not quit acting like two year olds and talk about to boys and their upcoming game if you want to fight exchange emails and do it on your own time PLEASE

AMEN!!

Now to the game. I'd like to see Rhea get the passing game going. Honestly, it has not done good all year. The quarterback position has struggled to be consistent and all of the receivers have struggled too. This team has loads and I mean loads of potential. They have the best running game in the state. If they can get a consistent passing game and good secondary play, see ya in Murfreesboro, promise ya. But those are two bigs ifs. The receiving core is very athletic and they can all catch. I can't tell you why we drop so many. If this team gets consistent, they'll surprise a lot of people.

It's going to be a long busride to White County. I hope Rhea gets a lot of thinking done. Maybe they will get it in gear and make Friday a good one in preparation for M-town. Maybe Rhea can finally put together a game where they run on all cylinders. If they do that, they would be very hard to beat. They played with RB minus the two INTs for TDs. They have beat pretty much every team that they have played except for mental errors and turnovers. Oh, and did I mention, they get outcoached. But I won't bash them too much. The OC needs to get some variety in his playcalling. It seems like he runs Sharp every play. I understand if it works that you keep running it, but not three plays in a row! That's just some of my thoughts. Go ahead and bash me.

He runs Sharp and Roberts every play (when Roberts was healthy) because of personal reasons. Moffett is the biggest threat on the team and he never gets used. Thats a shame.

You are right Moffett is a huge threat and a great ball player , but he weighs 150 pounds. Moffett's body cannot take the physical punishment yet, but knowing him he will work at it and gain some weight for next year. Their are no personal reasons for running Sharp and Roberts (They are two of the best backs in the area) and i would put both of them against any tandem in the state when both are healthy. Sharp gained 260 yards last game, how can you argue with that. Saying all that, Moffett is a huge threat and will be utilized this post season.

If those personal reasons include speed, durability and running north and south, then you might be right.

As great an athlete as Moffett is, I'm not sure his talents are best used between the tackles when you've got a guy like Julian. This team gets in trouble when it gets away from running the ball. When the O.C. keeps calling dinky screens and long developing passes, bad things happen. Whether they like it or not, this team is a power running team. Cleveland didn't stop the run all night. The coaches were right to keep running sweeps and short passes to the flat to Moffett (who has scored nearly every game this year, m4rcut) because there were no LBs in the flat. It worked and they kept exploiting the weakness.

The only time Rhea's running game has been slowed is when Red Bank put 8 in the box and Rhea used 5 to block them. Even then, Rhea was able to keep the ball for nearly a quarter and a half uninterrupted. So, guess what kept Rhea out of the end zone? They stopped running the ball when they get to the goal line.

Don't misunderstand, I'm not bashing Rhea's QBs or WRs, but this team is a successful smash-mouth running team and whoever is calling the plays should accept that.

I know its not saying much, but running the ball every play against Cleveland was the smartest thing the offensive coordinator has done all year.

What happened when Moffett got to run the ball from the backfield? Look at the stats.

I saw him take a quick pitch against Cleveland for some yardage. Smart play considering Cleveland had no OLBs out there in the flat. I also saw him take a jet sweep to the house against Walker Valley. Neither one of those plays are plays you can call with any regularity. You can run them a couple of times a week, tops. They were both gimmick plays. Besides, he's arguably the best wideout on the team. Why take away your #1 pass option from the team? The better Rhea runs the ball, the better chance Moffett has of getting open and catching passes, which best utilizes his ability.

Yeah Moffett is going to get alot of catches since Rhea throws it 20 or 30 times a game. Alls that is happening is the biggest threat on the team is not being used at all. And number 12 has the best hands on the team why not throw the ball to him. If I recall he had a few big catches against Marryville last year, one for 6.

Ok I will. Now I agree if the passing game just get alittle more consistent to keep the other team's defense honest. Rhea County could catch some people by surprise. The receivers are very talented, but with an inconsistent passing game it hard for the receivers to be consistent themselves. I know Ryno hasn't gotten the catches like he has in the past, but he has done a great job at being a safety this year. If they do spread the ball around against White Co. that will help get the passing game more consistent for the play-offs. Now the running has been great for this team all year. Julian always gets he yards and that is important. Chris has done a great job and I am just happy he is back. Plus I got to give props to the backs that filled in for chris while he was out which is a good sign for the future. And last but not least the O-line for opening those holes for Julian Chris and the other backs. Moffet is the best overall athlete on the team. Physically he may not have the weight yet but he has the agility, speed, hands, vision, and toughness to be even better than this year, and moffet has had a very good year this year.

Oh and the other new white jerseys and pants, even though they have nothing on them yet sound awesome.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
