would never doubt the living legend, but I believe that Goodpasture according to the TSSAA bracket is in the west and they play CPA first. York, DCA, Smith County, and Gatlinburg Pitman are the highest seeded teams in Alcoas half. I would expect the games leading to the semis will be tough, at least in the half that does not have Alcoa. York, DCA, and Smith Co. have to battle it out for a shot at the champ.

Honestly, who cares where we or any other school gets our players from. Our coaches dont go out recruiting like Fulmer and his staff, but kids do transfer to Alcoa just for athletics. I was a tuition student-athlete at Alcoa, and by God I'm happy my parents kept me out of Heritage High School and in Alcoa.

If I am a parent and have a 7th or 8th grader who I think has some potential in football, I'm going to look around for the best football program in my area. Not so much who wins the most state championships, but who sends the most kids on to play college football (college athletes and state championships usually go hand in hand though). College is expensive, and if there is a way for me to save over 100,000 dollars over 4 years, then I'm going to do everything in my power to put my kid in a situation to succeed.

Alcoa has produced abunch of college athletes over the last 7 years, and college coaches know this too. If a school is producing good athletes, then a college coach will look at this high school in the future hoping they can find the next Brandon Warren or Randall Cobb, thus helping my kid. Also, if a school has a lot of college athletes on their team, then that means other kids on the team will get more looks because they will be seen by the coaches who are coming to see the superstars play.

So, this bickering and complaining means nothing because it just comes down to parents trying to do the best for their kids.

What people fail to realize is that we don't need any players from knox co. I know when we won state in 2000 and went 15-0 I can't think of anyone that wasn't from Alcoa on the team!! Alcoa has always had the talent to win the state, but we just lacked a true program! There's athletes in Alcoa believe it or not, some darn good ones!

It was that way from the first championship to present day and I know that when I was a student at Alcoa some of the best "pure" athletes just walked the halls and didn't play organized ball past Middle school (well Jr. High when I was there).

I'll make this easy..............don't worry about the whole team, Just the core starters on Offense and defense.

Now give me names of these players and the area they come from?? With over 50% of the players playing both ways that's only about 15-20 players.

I'll even help you out................ZERO from South Knox, ZERO from West Knox.

Plus, I bet ya the total number coming from Alcoa city limits will be over 95%.

Come on..............prove me wrong! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Randall Cobb Alcoa

Tyler Robinson Friendsville

Jaron Toney Alcoa

Jeff Hickman Alcoa

Connor Miles Alcoa

Troy Hodge Alcoa

Teharin Tyson Alcoa

Darryl Warren Alcoa

Sam Thompson Alcoa

Dee Herbert Alcoa

Micah Dando Alcoa

Chase James Alcoa

SO what was that about players living outside of the zone???

Yep, out of 75 to 80 total players, my guess would be maybe 5-6 outside the zone?

Alcoa might win by 100. With that said, it is supposed to be illegal according to the TSSAA to transfer to a school strictly for athletic purposes. There must be legitimate academic reasons why that student is transferring into that school. For instance, if Alcoa offers a class or program Heritage doesn't, then that transfer is legit. If you do transfer just for sports, then you better keep it on the "down-low" or else you'll be suspended. Jaren Troutman at Fulton transferred to AE, but his mom let it slip that it was because he would start over there. Well...he was suspended and lost an entire year of eligibility.

That is not illegal by the way. It just means you have to follow transfer rules and sit out a year. You can bypass that rule if you move you residence or have a different outstanding reason for transferring.
