I am not certain you can see the car until the "curtain" has been lifted. Oneida will have enough athletes to be in the hunt in their conference. York had a pretty productive pre-season by what I have heard. I'm not sure if any members of the Dragon's Football Team will influence the outcome of this contest.(my guess is NO) Oneida's football players will have two practices under their belts, which won't amount to a hill of beans this early. All in all, I would say Coach King will have to be a little patient while his team forms it's "make-up". After that takes place, they will give a solid account of themselves on most nights. I would say York might still be the early favorite in the first game between these two.

There are only 3 players on the football team that won't be playing. The Dragons have plenty of players with out them. They have some good players that can come in off the bench and knock down the 3 and open up the lane. i believe that York will come out on top

Watch out for #11 Perry Atkinson dominating the post. York wins this one. By 20

York Institute is looking STRONG already! And I will agree to watch out for the strength of Atkinson. Not too sure about Oneida, but from what I've already seen and read about YAI this year, it's looking to be a good season. The team has a lot of momentum and school spirit right now because of the winning football team. I think it will carry over into b-ball season, too. Good luck teams! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

York won 52 to 31 with a strong defense and good shooting inside and out. every one that played for York scored. It was a good effort on both sides The Dragons wanted it more.

I dont think you can say the dragons wanted it more. But you can say the dragons were a much better team last night. I cant wait to see this Oneida team after it has all the gears clicking in about 3 or 4 weeks.

Even though i am a hardcore dragon fan i would have to agree with you. York didnt seem to want it that bad. In my opinion they didnt play their best and they mist very easy shots such as lay-ups and etc. But other than that a good win for the dragons. Still dont think Oneida can compete even when they are playin their best.... York is still missing two very good players due to football, but Oneida was better than i expected. GO DRAGONS

color="#FF8C00"]]Oneida Indians will be better onnce Coach gets our Freshman into the lineup, we will get rolling. Last year our Middle School won the State. Chambers, Manis, the Woodard brothers along with Cole Stephens and Andrew MCCartt should really make an impact this year. Oour Middle School dominated last year and they were also jr. pro champions before middle school. I am really looking forward to following the Indians this year particularly when those guys get on the floor. Our Freshman are really great and once they get the football out of them, look for big things this year. /motorbike.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":motorbike:" border="0" alt="motorbike.gif" /> :popcorneater[/color]:

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
