Mr. Mustang
Sometimes things just happen. If Harper doesn't make the pass on 4th down then Milan wins and plays GP again in the semi's. Could have gone either way. What hurt Huntingdon was the lack of depth on the line especially after Parham went down. After sitting out his Junior year with a knee injury he went down again against Bruceton. This definately took a toll on the team because he was a dependable tackle and he was the leader of the team too. Lots of players had to go both ways but this allowed some underclassmen to be able to get in some playing time.
bulldawgs#1
Offense is the only place where you have to have naturally gifted players. To be a lethal offense you have to have strong linemen, quick backs with atleast decent strength, receivers who can block and catch well, and a QB who can and will lead the offense. Without these things your team will struggle obviously. However, on Defense you don't have to have the most naturally gifted athletes. On defense all you need is a kid who ain't afraid to hit hard and often. Defense is purely physical, and because of this you can have some of the least gifted and still succeed. SO basing drop offs on that, your Offense should have some drop offs through the years, but your defense should never have drop offs. This fact is true of any team with a good coach, and a team that has a few tough, mean players. Granted a team with less natural talent will lose to the team with more talent in most cases, but there a few rarities where a team in with less talent beats a team with more talent. Examples from this year alone Trenton v.s. Westveiw and Trenton v.s. Milan. We know Milan and Westveiw has more natural athletes than Trenton, but yet Trenton is th one playing this week. My question is how do you explain the fact that Trenton a team with less natural athletes than those two teams, beat the two teams with more natural talent? Every coach will tell you he wants his best athletes on defense. Case in point, watch how coaches will rotate players esp. at the 2A level with lack of athletes. Take this years Milan team....Gilbert, Williams, Bledsoe, and Hart all started on defense but split the carries. Yes, defensive players have to have a different mindset in that they want to take someones head off everyplay but you give me one thing it's closing speed. Now why do you want to go and post something like this. Feel good about Trenton's playing in the semi's tonight. Those Goodpasture boys have our number for sure. We're 0-For life against them. When Huntingdon owns a 20-5 all-time record against Trenton I wouldn't be talking about a "dead pony" for sure. Good Luck tonight against GP. Closing speed is nice but it means very little if your DE's are getting blowed off the line.

hardhead70
How many Stang fans are going to McKenzie tonight? How many Stang fans are going to Paris tonight? Go Rebels and Go Patriots!!! I would imagine alot of stang fans will be going to mckenzie. we will support our neighbors when they do well. we have no reason to be jealous of any other team. you see, when you let yourself become jealous, like alot of people do toward a successful program, it makes you act like a --------- well i wont say it because it would make me look like the very people im talking about. good luck to mckenzie and trenton. Huntingon has waxed Trenton since football began. Take your "rollercoaster postseason" and be proud. Somehow tonight I don't think your prayer passes will be answered by the big man above.
