I've been supporting the Rebels since well before season here on coachT and am familiar with all the regular Rebel posters. A few more have joined in later here in the season. Generally, those individual's posts have been as classy and supportive as the posts from MP. There have been some outrageous scores predicted especially earlier this thread and most of those didn't come from any poster I know from McKenzie. Now posts start coming out of the classrooms at the high school that........................well, they are what they are and we all know what that is.

 

All I can say is that ANYONE from McKenzie who thinks this is gonna be a stampede over Mt. Pleasant really needs to take a deep breath and get real. There is no way that anyone from McKenzie can say at this time this will be a Rebel jailbreak at Mt. Pleasant's expense and have much experience following high school football in TN!!!! From round three (last week) on, ANY team might win on a given night. It's a proven fact!!!! (I might make an exception for Maryville!)

 

I am a bit confused about the parade comment earlier. I thought I kept up with local happenings pretty well and I've not heard of any parade plans other than the Christmas Parade??? There WILL be a cookout tomorrow night open to fans from both teams before the game which is hardly classless. It's even at Butchies and he's always our biggest pot stirrer during regular season on here. But, a lot of opposition fans have met him and know that he's actually a good guy just havin' fun. He's not doing that now 'cause even he knows this is time to get real. Now if there is a parade planned here and I wasn't told I'm mad at us too!!!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

 

The players and coaches from these two schools have worked their butt off many long hours, days, weeks and months to be where they are. This is certainly NO time for EITHER teams supporters to be disrespectful of the other team (and no I'm not saying that MP fans have been disrespectful toward McKenzie here)!!!!!!!!!! The simple fact is that either team can walk away from this one with a win.

 

It's gonna be all about which team executes their game plan best. If I know the Rebels anything like I believe I do, a total shutdown of Dailey is NOT their game plan. No doubt they will take steps to try and minimize the success he has on our defense but, not depend on completely stopping him. I'll leave that one at that and just say that I'm sure both teams have spent the entire week working up ways that they feel will give them the best chance to win this game. While mentioning ways to win a game, there are many more games won in the trenches than any other area of the game and there is little or no consideration given on here to the importance of that aspect of this game. An average back behind a great line suddenly looks like a Mr. Football contender in many cases.

 

So, everybody chill!!! We're gonna see a GOOD football game tomorrow night!!!

Good idea, kinda like the teams are divided up. We'd only need a couple of classes though like A and AA with some arbitrary age being the dividing point!!!

 

On the other hand I've seen some kids make really good posts on coachT too. There was a young man from Jo Byrns who started a thread earlier this week to thank all the fans/supporters of their team and his teammates for all the enjoyment and fun they had been a part of in his career there and how much that had meant in shaping who he is to this point in his life. i've been reading these posts from mckenzie all week, now i've got something to say. we're in the final 4 just like you are. i'm sure you have a good team or you would'nt be here. but, we're not some "johnny come lately". in the last 5 years our record is 53-12. we've kicked a lot of butt and have gotten use to kicking butt. so getting on here talking your trash is not going to intimidate or scare us. we're coming friday night and we're going to come strong and come long. so all i can say is "button'em up", cause if you can't get along, then get it on! woooooo! it ain't easy being cheesy!
