The season has started and it's time now for District play to crank up...

This weeks District games:

Opinions on the upcoming games and how you think things will shape up!

DC over CC, DC looking pretty tough right now.

OC over GC, OC will eventually pull away, 10-15, GC may have some trouble scoring, but their D should help the game stay close.

M over DB, DB could be a tough tournament opponent, lack of an outside threat, other than McLin will hurt, although they provide issues for other teams, as they are huge. This size will cause issues for Glenn, Poston & others. M full court game and press should cause enough t/o for a win.

Upset special, GC over Obion. Obion seems ripe for a letdown. Best upcoming game may be Milan at Obion, with the early district lead on the line.

Eh, Milan and OC may be a good game but GC and OC oughta be a great game as well...Gibson Co. crushed Humboldt tonight by nearly 40 and the starters came out in the second quarter and played about 2 minutes in the third and the rest were all subs...I think almost every player scored tonight...pretty impressive

That is impressive, as Humboldt girls are improved. Wish you well against OC, hope GC wins. How did GC lose to Bradford ?

13AA, Bradford is solid this year...I know it's unlikely to hear that Gibson Co. loses to Bradford but our post play really didn't do so hot that night as we missed several shots right under the basket and got in a tad bit of foul trouble...We'll only get better as the season goes on!! Appreciate the good luck against OC...I hope we can pull it out as it'll be very close...

 

I'm going to say this now, If Heather Butler stays injury free and gets a tad more heigth to her she'll HAVE to be a candidate for Ms. Basketball, if not by her Junior year then atleast her Senior year!!!!! She is only a Sophomore and is scoring at will on the teams we have gone up against...she can drive to the basket and score over bigger defenders and step out and pop the three!!! We're looking good for the future...Heather Butler (PG) and Heather Griffin (PF) are sopomores and Jeniqua Jennings (SG) is a Junior...We also have pretty young talent coming up as well and like I said in another thread, once Medina get's this high school built and Gibson Co. most likely drops to 1A it'll be one heck of a Single A team with the young talent we have now and the coaching we have in Coach McMillan and Russell!!!!!

Tough district but I like Obion and Gibson in the end.

I agree...I see the top 4 from District 13AA being Obion Co., Gibson Co., Milan, Dyer Co...That's my opinion though and I may be wrong, we'll have to wait and see....

 

I'll update the standings after Friday nights games...I look for Gibson Co. to cruise to 3-0 in the District with a win over Crockett, I think Dyer Co. will beat Milan Friday night as well, and I believe Westview will move to 2-0 in the District with a close game against Dyersburg

My predictions for tonights games:

 

Gibson Co. will win by around 25 over Crockett with the subs getting lots of playing time.

Dyer Co. will defeat Milan by about 4 points in what will turn out to be a GREAT game!

Westview will beat Dyersburg by about 10.
