*UPDATED* Top 2009 Prospects.

Well the Junior season is in the books. Which rising Seniors will be the Top Tennessee Targets for recruiters for the class of 2009? Here are few that IMO have been, are, and will continue to be focused on during the spring/summer combine, camp, and seven on seven tournament events.

 

Marlon Brown. WR. 6-5, 205. Harding Academy. Rivals 100 member checking in at number 11. Might be a Top 150 on the hardwood as well. Obvious that he can get a free education bouncing a ball, but he might be able to make a living catching one. Illinois, Tenn, Bama, Stanford, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Clemson, and Oklahoma are all in the hunt.

 

Eric Gordon. CB. 5-10, 180. Hillsboro. Followed up a nice summer of seven on seven work with a solid JR. year. As true of a natural Corner as I have seen in a long time. 1st Team All State after his SOPH. year, and would expect the same this time around. Tenn, Bama, West Virginia, Florida, Texas, and Vandy are all interested.

 

Courtney Easterwood. OG/DT. 6-4, 305. Christian Brothers. Really came into his own this year. Could possibly play on either side of the ball at the next level. Runs very well. Has offers from Tenn, and Ole Miss. Sure more will follow once he gets out to the camps this summer and shows what he can do.

 

James Walker. LB. 6-1, 210. Houston-Germantown. Runs well. Closing speed. Those chasing him are Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Tenn, and Ole Miss.

 

Cole Tischer. DE. 6-4, 230. Brentwood. Raw and physical. Followed up a good Sophomore season with a nice Junior one. Bama, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Rutgers, Stanford, Vandy.

 

Alex Bullard. OG. 6-3, 280. Brentwood Academy. Plays with nice leverage, and moves pretty well. Tenn, Vandy, Auburn.

 

Wesley Tate. RB. 6-2, 180. PJ II. Vandy. Rough season. probably needs to get out and about this summer.

 

Tavares Jefferson. RB. 5-11, 185. Ensworth. Folks in D-II know all about him. One that got away from OR. A sleeper no more. Could well wind up as either a basketball or baseball prospect. No matter, he's a SEC/ACC caliber athlete.

 

Zach Rogers. WR. 6-2, 180. David Lipscomb. Nice WR, showed how tough he was when moved to WB late in season. Thought he was a Tenn lock. Maybe not now?

 

Jamal Ramsey. QB. 6-3, 190. BGA. Growing into it. Has the tools to be a prototype. Memphis, Vandy, Ole Miss.

 

Will Gillchrist. QB. 6-2, 190. Hardin County. Nice dual threat guy. Memphis, Vandy, Ole Miss.

 

Will Coulter. DE. 6-3, 240. Knoxville Catholic. Unblockable at times. Quick with great bend, and explosive. Fast.

 

Aubrey Phillips. OL. 6-6, 310. Booker T. Washington. Just can;t coach that kind of frame. Bama, Ole Miss, Tenn.

 

Thad McHaney. TE. 6-6, 225. Brentwood Academy. Another who had a nice summer last year in the seven on seven stuff. Auburn, Tenn, Vandy.

 

Cameron Mason. TE. 6-4, 230. Brentwood. Good hands, better blocker. Ole Miss, Tenn.

 

Hunter Beedle. OL. 6-3, Sullivan South. Helped protect Curt Phillips. Auburn, Louisville, Wake, Vandy.

 

Wes Johnson. OL. 6-5, 255. MBA. Great frame, and pretty physical. Georgia Tech, Vandy.

 

Joe Sloan. TE. 6-4, 250. MBA. This one can block. Vandy, Ole Miss, Duke.

 

D. Wilson. WR. 6-2, 190. PJ II. Once again tough season, but the kid has some skills that folks like Colorado, Georgia Tech, Rutgers, Michigan State,and Tenn seem to like.

 

Caleb Leonard. OL. 6-3, 280. Halls. Wrestler. Plays low, and got Wes Kitts a lot of yards. Could be a Center at the next level. MTSU, Memphis.

 

Justin Smith. DL. 6-2, 250. Nice player. Has the speed to play DE. Good motor when it's coming at him.

 

Christian McFall. RB. Jefferson County. Prep Xtra Player of the Year as a Soph, and ran well this yr. Strong. Would make a good FB/H-Back.

 

Evan Webb. LB. 6-2, 210. David Lipscomb. Another fine Lipscomb LB.

 

Michael Saggio. LB. 6-2, 205. David Lipscomb. Ditto. Really came on strong through the playoffs.

 

Sam Thompson. DB/Ath. 5-10. 180. Alcoa. Smart, tough, fast. Cobb was important, but Alcoa would have had to do a lot more with out Thompson. Playmaker.

 

Zach Vann. 5-10, 170. Knoxville Catholic. Super quick, and low. 1500+ pace before injury.

 

Jamie Wilson. 5-11, 190. Knoxville Central. It's now or never for the ultra talented, but often injured star.

White House has a many players that could be big by the end of the season

Cordarious Mann from Jackson North Side is an extremely talented back. He can take it the distance fom anywhere at any time. Very strong runner for his size. He is just strong period. He rushed for 2131 yards and had 2800 all purpose yards this year. He did all this against one of the toughest 4A schedules in the state. If youve seen him run you wold love him. He is a class act on the field as well. Great kid.

Chad Coleman-6'2";210lbs -LB/FB, Anderson County High School:Good Hands, Excellent Blocker, Strong Safety possibly with speed, Hard Hitter, Solid defensive player, Defensive Captain Sophmore, Junior years. Offensive starter since Freshman year. Good all around core player.

Not any mention of the Garner kid from William Blount. I think he had around 1,600 yards rushing and 500 recieving as a Junior. His size might hurt him though only being 5'10 175 but I know his forty yard dash is at least a 4.4 or lower.

Anybody heard if any colleges are looking at him.

Josh Davis PKQB 5'10 181 He already has received of interest from serveral Division 1 teams.

 

Kevin Revis OL 6'3 260 Very good linemen has a lot of potential to play at the next level. I have heard many people say he maybe just as good as Brandon McLeroy. Very smart seems to improve everytime he steps on the field. Very smart on the field and in the class room.

 

Jacob Moffet CBDawgWRRB 5'10 160 Probably one of the best athletes to come out of Rhea County in a long time. One of the best receivers on the team, hard hitter on defense, and a great punt and kick returner. Very smart player too and great awareness on the field.

 

A.J. Brown WRCB 5'10 162. Very good Special teams player and a very good receiver. Has good potential to go play for a smaller college.

 

Josh Walker OL 6'4 290. He is a good lineman. Great size for a high school linemen. His abilities improved alot last year and I expect that his abilities to continue to improve.

 

The rising sophomores next years juniors will have several potential prospects.

Aaron Chamberlain 6'1" 210lb dual threat Q.B. from Maryville H.S played backup to Brent Burnette last year.Has a strong arm very accurate throwing in the pocket or rolling out. Melvin Young, Cannon County. He should have a huge year. He probably would be either a slot receiver or DB in college. Great speed, balance, and football sense. Good instincts with the ball in his hands. Would serve well to also be a punt returner in college. He is 5'8" about 160lbs but can fly.
