Coach Bartsch sounds like a good candidate for the job. Coaching at Oakland he was in the toughest 5-A region in the state. And it appears as if he coached some very talented players in California. Whomever the next coach is, will be walking into a good situation with one of the top backs in 2-A in Melvin Young and a wealth of talent on both sides of the ball. Excitement about the program is high and the next coach needs to keep that going

Why would you go hire a coach that would bring a shotgun formation to a team that has been trained and drilled using the Wing T? I think the admin at Cannon Co are being very smart if the momentum is on the side of this program now and they have a good back. I mean way waste that opportunity by hiring a guy that is going to put in something the players haven't seen before. Learning a new system can be a huge hurdle for a team to overcome.

Coach Sanders being the head coach at Cannon County is a dead issue. The experts need to do some more research. He turned down the job on Tuesday so please move on with another name.

I am very glad that Coach Sanders will be back. I know that he would have been a heck of a head coach. Why did he turn the job down? I thought it would have been a good job for him.

does anyone out there know where they stand on naming a coach? i mean the boys need to have time to study a new playbook before spring prac, and learn a new d! even if the stick with the same base formation,a new coach means a new playbook.so does anyone out there know how close they are to hiring a new coach? even if they are close at all?

could be within the next couple of days. but who knows you never can tell. i jst hope they get a good coach. and having one who runs the wing-t would be the best thing for the team, u dont need to cahnge things for this team who had alot of success running it last season, especially with 90% of the starters returning on both sides of the ball, hey why fix somethin if it aint boken?

If it is that easy, save the money and let the players just run last years plays. Doesn't sound like the new coach will have much input anyway. Sounds like a figure head to me. All this talk about getting someone with experience doesn't make sense. Sounds like all he needs to be able to do is read a playbook. Where is the fun in that. Whoever the new coach is...GOOD LUCK!

Amen, brother! I have worked with Coach Daniel in the past and talk with him now and again. He is very knowledgable, has the respect of the players, and is from the community, so he would not go anywhere. He called most, if not all, of the plays the last couple of years as well. Give the guy a shot and see what he can do!

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
