Without question the top 3 rivalries in the state of Tennessee are as follows #3 FRA vs CPA (the hate between these two schools is unbelievable from the fans to the vandalism it has it all) #2 MBA vs Father Ryan (the only reason this one is not #1 is because Ryan has been terrible at football for the past few years) #1 BA vs MBA (biggest game of the year for both teams this year though MBA doesn't know what they're in for with us)

Goodpasture vs David Lipscomb it doesnt get any bigger. How many times has one of these teams made it to the State Title Game? I was on the sidelines for 3 and played in 1. There is usally anywhere from 2000-5000 people at these games. There have also been some special moments in this classic series.

1992 Lipscomb misses game-tying FG in OT.

1993 Lipscomb wins first ever region crown 21-7

1994 Lipscomb rolls to 28-0 win in route to State Title.

1995 Goodpasture shuts out DL twice.

1996 Goodpasture gets first ever win at Lipscomb's Field.

1997 Lipscomb wins OT thiller 36-29.

2000 Blocked Ep in the Regular Season give Cougars 14-13 win, EP wide left give cougars 7-6 QF win

Also we havent forgot about the fake punt in '95 when yall were up 28-0 with second left.

Besides Alcoa... Maryville and M'town West will be a huge game. Two of the top 4-A teams going at it for bragging rights basically. This game is gonna be huge.

Clarksville high and Clarksville Northeast High has always been a big Rival in the Midstate area.At one time Northeast went like 7 straight times beating Clarksville High but Clarksville has won the last four meetings. These are two crosstown rivals and Northeast is Clarksville's biggest rival in anything..It could be a tennis match and they go all out and want to just destroy each other.

    • You didn't spell Greeneville and Elizabethton correctly in your sentence.  4A has the best teams in Upper East TN.  Carter County All-Stars and Greene County All-Stars is the Superbowl now.
    • Yeah, but if he goes to Science Hill they are guaranteed at least a win over Kingsport and that's basically the NET Superbowl
    • I expect Sevier County might be pretty good, perhaps Mo West as well.     But I don't see either of them getting out of round 2.          The rest of the region gets smoked in round 1.            Except for those once-in-a-blue-moon anomaly years the NET big schools are pretty much the same every season.
    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
