Sorry, I'm new to this whole 'posting' thing and didn't realize that you were the keeper of the rules. Well, at least you recognized the language! Maybe that's why you run things here, eh? Opps, that's Canadian, isn't it? Can we still have credibility using a Canadaian expression? I thought a 'forum' was simply about expressing your opinion. I didn't know it was to try and 'influence' coachs, etc. Wow! What power! So much to learn, so little time. Please, oh wonderous keeper of the rules, 'post' a copy of what we can and can not say so we can all jump on this bandwagon and not upset anyone. It would be very enlightning and appreciated.

No rules from me. Post what you want. Same goes for me though so for every stupid thing you say I can have the opinion it is stupid and tell you that.

Aren't you a Centennial fan? You have no idea what you are talking about. Smith is gone and he took whatever principles he had with him. Sure some of the coaches were there under him, but this is Eubanks' team and his principles run the team. It is hard to believe that the team goes 11-4 and there are a couple of people that still want to invent some dirt to spread around. Like I told HS, give it up and move on.

It's funny how one can be wrong so many times in such little word usage.

I see Independence fighting for that 4th seed in the region. I think Smith at QB, Heckman at RB, Sheppard and Williams at WR, and Berry anchoring the o-line will give the offense all they need to compete on a night to night basis in region 6. I think the one position that will not be replaced more than any other from last year or the history of the program (with exception to Joshua Grigsby 2 years ago) for that matter is Consiglio at line backer. His mental aspect he brought to the field isn't made or molded in one off season.

You are right it is funny how one can be so wrong, just read your post. I do agree with you about Consiglio though. He will be harder to replace than Grigsby was though. Not only was Ryan the QB of the defense he was a more than adequate backup for Pettigrew at RB. I still don't see Heckman at RB this year, but time will tell.

You're right time will tell.

Questions I have:

Who is the leading candidate to be the kicker this coming year? Ty Stannard?

Are there any transfer players that could legitimately have an impact on the team this coming fall?

How has spring lifting/conditioning been coming along?

Either Stannard or the Leake kid will probably kick I would think. Not sure about the other stuff. I would bet that Coach Bobby is putting them through the paces in off season workouts though.

Any news on the scrimmage today?

I was there. It angers me beyond belief that a program with the talent that WC has to play with is as CLASSLESS as they are. I thought for sure I would go and see two teams that excelled in 2007 play football, and I get there and see what football is not about, as displayed in the character, or lack thereof in that WC group. I cannot say that all of the WC players acted like thugs (Hats off to those guys that do play with class), but those guys that did sure leave a lasting image and opinion of the WC program. Good luck to the "class" of WC in 2008!

Was nice to see IHS handle the classless acts reasonably well, which translates to a "win" in my book.

As for the scrimmage, I thought both defenses were way ahead of the offesnses, which is to be expected in spring camp. The WC D is a darn good defense. The WC O seems to be down from last year. The IHS D looked solid. The IHS O was out of sync for sure. It appears losing 9 of 11 off that 2007 offense is a big loss and will take time to get it going. Believe the final count for the first teams was WC 4 - IHS 1.

The B team scrimmage went to IHS. I believe there was only one score in their outing. IHS 1 - WC 0. I thought the IHS backups were further ahead than the WC B team.

    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
    • Heard Seq has gotten a lot stronger this off season. Can’t wait to see how the boys do this year
