i think sweetwater has one of the nicest fields around, the outfield wall is one of a kind around in the area. so it's in my opinion it's in the top 10, walker valley has one of the nicest high school facilites that i've seen. McMinn Central isn't that bad either.

Wow. Your sayin that Sourwater has a nicer field than McMinn Central does? Centrals outfields is the best around it dont have any valleys or holes in it like any other outfield around here does. And whats so special about their fence? its just a 15 foot blue wall. But i do agree on the Walker Valley field it is very nice, id say them an Central have two of the top ten fields in east tennessee

Two of the best facilities I have seen are McMinn Central and Farragut. For scenery outside of the ball park, the backdrop at Polk Co. is unmatched!

Central's is rags... idk how you come up with them being one of the nicest. Prob bc you're from there....

dont forget about red bank. extended dugouts, new windscreens, and always has a nice playing surface. same goes for hixson, its like a golf course over there. but ofcourse you cant beat lookout valley.

Alcoa gets my vote by far

Wow I'm really surprised I haven't seen many people saying Farragut on here. To me it's the best field I've seen in the state. The only thing it lacks is scenery(gotta love Kroger in the backdrop). Also, really like Riverdale as always and Cookeville. William Blount is also a great place to play!

First off, i put McMinn Central's field as one of my top picks, so your gonna start stuff when somebody comments you, real mature bud. Way to show some class. Also, we had one little bitty divet in our out field from a whinney left fielder that was mad that his team got beat, so he decided to take it out on our left field grass and dig a hole with his cleat...OH YEA THAT WAS MCMINN CENTRAL, almost forgot. That's fixed though. as far as the field goes for central, it's not that bad,NOT the best, but pretty nice. Alcoa has the best field by far, hands down.

I know this should be in the worst field catagory but here goes. My son played in a summerball tourny a few years ago up in Illiniois somewhere. It was basically a cow pasture with a pitchers hump and some bases. The outfield was up and down with a ditch running thru the rightfield wall and continuing thru right field, off the field and thru the parking lot where culvert took it from there. Huge 100 year old oaks lined the outfield wall with gaint limbs hanging 15 to 20 feet or more out into the field. The scenery past the oaks was of a very large 30's or 40's building that is a mental hospital, and about twice during every game they would load up a cotton wagon being pulled by a huge John Deere loaded to capacity with patients. They would circle the field about twice with the patients whooping and hollering at the kids playing ball. About half way between the hospital and the outfield wall was a concrete patio where the safest of the patients were allowed to sit during the game.....they yelled and hollered at the kids all during the game. The score board consisted of what looked to be a couple of sheets of plywood with hooks screwed into it so the guy on the ladder could post the results. During the pre- game meeting the umps would take the two teams coaches on a tour of the field....pointing out all the defects of the field....making the remarks that "It's the same for both teams." One particular rule was that if a ball hit one of the overhanging limbs it would be considered a homerun.....all of ours seemed to miss everytime.

It was a hoot!!!!! Another great memory I'll never forget.

Sorry for changing the subject.

There are alot of really nice fields in this area......many have been built with the blood, sweat, and hard work (and one that I know of in particular...... some tears) of the booster clubs. They are not as fortunate as some to get money from local government or other providers......they simple do the best they can to provide year in and year out the best place they can to play the greatest game in the world. They will gladly tell you, "Our is the best there is." and I firmly agree.

    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
