REDHOTZ13DAD
The district meeting was held today. There are (10) games left in the district to decide everything. Coalfield and OS play Thursday night to decide 1 and 2 with OS having the advantage because they beat Coalfield at their place. OS has not lost a game and Coalfield has only lost (1) and that was to OS. Tomorrow nights game should be a good one. As for the rest of the district the remaining (9) games will determine just where the remaing will land in the district tournament which starts on Monday the 5th at 5:00. Oliver Springs looks like the class of the district easily. The Knoxville news sentinel has them only losing Once this year to Midway. It also shows them hammering Kingston. Coacht.com shows Kingston hammering Oliver Springs. One is wrong and one is right. Regardless, it looks like OS is competing with some of the best AA teams and killing A teams ( with excpetion to a strong Midway team). OS could be a sleeper to make a push for the Single A Championship.
softballsmygame
Kingston did beat Os 11 to 0. I think that the Os/Coalfield game will be a good one. It will be determined by who shows up to the field tonight.
REDHOTZ13DAD
The OS vs. Coalfield last night was a great game. An unreal pitching duel to say the least. The score was 0-0 until the bottom of the 5th. OS had runners on 1st and 2nd with two outs. There was a fly ball hit to center field and the ball was dropped scoring two. OS got one more run in off a bloop hit to right to go up 3-0 after five. They added another run in the sixth to make the game 4-0 and that is how it ended. Junior Kim hall had 17 K's in the winning effort and 8th grader Lindsey Fadnek had 12 K's in the loss. This was truly a great game from the first pitch. OS takes the lead in the district with Coalfield in 2nd place. The 4-A district tournament starts Monday at Coalfield with OS and Coalfield having "By's" in the first day of play. Good Luck Ladies !!!
softballsmygame
How's did everyone think about the tournament last night? Wartburg and Oneida both came away with win, while Oakdale and Sunbright are now out of the tournament. How does everyone feel about the rest of the tournament? What are some of the predictions? /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />

I think that is a pipe dream, considering Midway can't win a game @ state as dominant as they were the last 2 years. OS is indeed a solid team, but not state championship contenders. Now, if you simply mean making it to state----yes. They got a shot.JMHO........
goosevol
What time does OS and Coalfield play tomorrow? Should be another great pitching duel.
Diamond DW
Goose: I was told 7:00PM by OS pitcher's dad. Good luck to both Coalfield and Oliver Springs from the Diamond Aacdemy.
youknow65
I think it will be a great game against the lady cats and the lady jackets, but in the end i think it will come up a win for the lady cats. They have a strong line-up and a great infield including kim hall. also the outfield has stepped up and has really improved since last year. The oliver Springs will come home with a win tonight. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Good Luck Lady Cats!!! REDHOTZ13DAD
What a great game tonight between Oliver Springs and Coalfield. Coalfield got out early scoring one run in the first to take the lead. They added a couple more runs in the 4th to go up 3-0. That is where the game stayed until the 7th when Coalfield put up two more to make the game 5-0 going into the bottom of the 7th. Oliver Springs made a charge in their half but could only get 3 runs in before Coalfield ended the game with 2 K's from Lindsey Fadnek and a throw out at 1st. Lindsey had 11 K's in the game tonight in the win. The defense for Coalfield really stepped it up tonight with great play from all, but especially from the catcher Andrea Foster with some unreal diving catches. Congradulations Lady Jackets!!! and good luck tomorrow night in the Championship Round.
dougb110
defense for Coalfield .....really stepped it up tonight with great play from all, but especially from the catcher Andrea Foster with some unreal diving catches. Congradulations Lady Jackets!!! and good luck tomorrow night in the Championship Round. Actually, I think your catcher ended the game with a catch of a popup foul ball. She made some good plays including the diving catch and throwing out a runner stealing 2nd. I hope the Bobcats take care of business today and get another shot at Coalfield. Championship of this district is extra important, no one wants to travel to Midway for the their region game.
