Vonore High School

1982-83 Plain white helmet with gray face mask.

1984-86 Royal Blue helmet with royal blue face mask. Devil logo like the one on the Greeneville helmet, just without the collar.

1987-88 The Devil came off, the helmet was solid royal blue.

Will work on getting more details on other years that the helmet changed at Vonore and will also try to get good enough pictures for you to go off of. I know at one time there was a royal blue "V" with a wide royal blue stripe down the middle but can't remember the years. It seems like it was the late 70's, but not for sure.

The old Vonore helmets are up now (did the best I could on the '84-'86 helmet).

I might even have some old helmet images from Marshall County and perhaps some others if you need them. Just let me know.

That's great; thanks. I can work with those easily.

Sure, let me know if you have any others.

Marshall County's 2001-2004 helmets look like the Memphis Tigers football helmets.

Prior to 2001 their helmets were silver with a royal blue facemask and the side logo was the "Tiger Paw" (like Clemson's) and that was royal blue as well.

Fish: We had in our archive, the Marshall County Helmet was replica of the Memphis helmet. We played them during that period and I thought that is what they wore. (don't recall the tiger paw)

Rossville Christian, Grace Baptist, and SAS are on the site now; Clay County is being perfected and will be up soon.

i remember them in the late 80's early 90's they(marshall co.) were solid blue with a white stripe down the middle and white numerals on each side with white face masks.and didn't marshall co. have silver helmets at one time like in 95,96.and also during the early 90's Giles Co. had a decal on each side that was two stripes that started in the middle of the back of the helmet and the stripes led into a bobcat head similar to the one that is on Washington States helmet.the helmet was black with yellow decal and the face mask was white, then in 1992,black helmet, white face mask, yellow interlocking GC on each side.then after that they went to a plain black helmet with white mask until like 1996-97 they change to a black mask til 2005 season when they put the charlotte bobcat on each side.i'll have to try to get pics of them i think i have some in an old year book.up until about 4 years ago Giles Co. used the color yellow instead of the gold color, but the school color have always been black, gold, white.

Floating the Helmet Project back out there again. A few schools have changed helmets for the upcoming season (Sullivan Central, Spring Hill, Gibbs, Cookeville are a few that come to mind), so please, if your school has changed helmets, please let us know. Remember, actual logos/decals are the best; straight-on, up-close pictures are the next best way to re-create helmets.

Thanks for your hard work. I don't know if you were the one I e-mailed a few weeks ago about Spring Hill changing this year, but even if you weren't thanks! It looks great and thanks again for a cool site. Anyone out there needs to help with this website if they know of any changes to their respective school's helmets... By the way, I know that Columbia Central is going to change this year as well. I think they're going to an encursive "Lions" (I think it will look like The University of Florida's "Gators") on the side with two stripes that thin out from front of the helmet to back. (Like the Titans and The University of Virginia have had.) Just trying to help but you might want to talk to someone directly involved with Columbia Central. Good luck on a great site.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
