Lexington vs. Sycamore

All the more reason not to pitch to Keck. One guy has 6 rbi's and 2 bombs? He outscored you 6-3 by himself. Harpeth could have given Sycamore the scouting report. It's, 'make somebody besides Keck beat you'. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

especially if you are playing on a short porch!!!

I'm guessing it's still 314 down the lines and 345 to center?

I've never understood why they don't build a bigger field there as baseball crazy as that town is.

Every year at this time we have to listen to all the dorks from Middle Tenn trash our BB field. If its 345 to center for Lexington THEN ITS 345 to center for the visiting team also, RIGHT?? If Lexington is hitting these bombs why wasn't your team doing it also?? I would think 99% of all high school BB players & coaches would like a short center field, but not middle Tenn teams..why?? Lexington's BB team plays in a city park on a field that's maybe 35 years old. No room at the high school to build a new field. What would a new compete ball field cost? $75,000 to $100,000 dollars? All new metal light poles, fencing, grass, press box, bathrooms, PA system, stands, parking, lighting, paving and food area, etc. The Co just spent $10 million building a new middle school and plans to spend another $10 million for a new Henderson Co jail. So a new ball field is further down the list. Now in Middle Tenn where the property taxes are three times higher then they are here in Henderson Co you can a new high school & ball fields on every corner with a "just right" center fence to make everyone happen. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Lexington travels all over West & Middle Tenn to play BB and no one ever "cries" about the another teams house! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> HINT! HINT!

If you come to Lexington and get yours butt's beat on our "little" field and can't hit any bombs....... now thats your little middle Tenn problem!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

GOOD LUCK TO THE LEXINGTON BIG RED TIGERS!!

home run on our "little league field"?? /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Lexington pitchers must be real good at keeping the ball down and away from hitters too. If you are a pitcher with a deep centerfield, you can afford to get it up alittle but at 345 to center, thats not an option. Give Lexington pitchers credit for out-of-town teams not hitting HRs there.

And I'm not from Lexington.

Ummmm..........I wasn't complaining.........you might want to ask montague1 where I grew up.....

I'm just surprised no one has done anything to build a high school only field there.

Shoot, I'm a middle Tennessee guy and I've thought for a long time that Lexington has one of the nicer complexes for a city park as anybody and their tradition is second to none. Speaking of Little League fields, they have one of the nicest ones I've ever set foot on in Tennessee. It's cut like a high school field with grass between home and first and home and third. Very nice!

There's no crying in baseball. The dimensions are the same for both teams.

I've also been in on the design of a few baseball fields. The lights alone will cost around $75,000 to $100,000.

haha the field size is obviously a sore subject with the lexington people. yall won the game plain and simple. as for pitching to keck or not pitching to keck...all ive read about is 1-9 these lexington guys can take you yard. so wouldnt that mean pitching around him means facing another dangerous hitter? if this team is as loaded as everyone seems to say then you wouldnt want to put anyone on base in front of these studs.

I would make Lexington prove to me that the other 8 hitters could beat me. Keck would have to beat me by stealing and getting into scoring position. Something I'm not sure he could do. What were the highlights for Sycamore?

Go Luck to Lexington and Boliver Wednesday and Friday.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
