In speaking with North Greene coach, I understand that they have no budget either. They raised about $2300 this year and the school system only pays their coaches supplements. THe booster club will give if available. Here is the kicker for a single A school. They do not have lights and therefore their games must start at 4:00 - 4:30. There is usually a draw of maybe 10-15 people for many non-conference games and by the time you pay someone to keep gate, it's useless. Yet, TSSAA does not take small schools into account. The officials are $130 for varsity and $40 more if you want to have JV which they did this year. So, to play a game it starts at $170 and then you count 4-5 balls at $20 bucks and the equipment and materials needed to maintain the field the program starts to go under. Not to mention that TSSAA passes a $5 increase per year for an infinite amount of time. He said they would be better off never playing a home game. There needs to be some end in sight before TSSAA puts the small schools under.

YES WE HAVE A GREAT BOOSTER CLUB. THE FACILITIES AT LINCOLN COUNTY DRESSING ROOM, CONCESSIONS,LIGHTS,HITTING FACILITY, FENCE,DUGOUTS EVERY THING YOU SEE THERE THE BOOSTER CLUB RAISED FUNDS FOR. WE HAVE NO ADD SIGNS BECAUSE OF THE PRINCIPAL. OUR SCORE BOARD IS 20 YRS OLD AND MORE THAN ONCE DIFFERENT COMPANYS HAVE OFFERED A NEW ONE, BUT THEY WANT TO BE ABLE TO PUT ADV SIGN UP. TO ALL PRINCIPALS NEVER TURN DOWN FREE MONEY UNLESS THE SCHOOL CAN AFFORD TO PAY THE PRICE.

that is the advantage we have in while our princapal doesnt give us any money we dont have to give any money either the parentsa and booster club run the gate concession stand and everything and we can do what we want as far as signs go in fact the signs we got helped pay for the scoreboard and we have some great sponsors

to the small school that pays someone to do the gate why not have a parent do it and not pay anyone...we include the gate as a concession stand rotation so everyone has to do their part...we also work TITANS games and we raise a lot of money that way

MLK High School raised about $17,000. We took a trip to Jacksonville, FL for spring break. We worked Titans games and the Sommet Center concessions. We're only working Titans games next year, but more of them so that we make more money. The Sommet Center was too much of a hastle. The school only pays for the two coaching stipends as head and assistant coach. In order to hire another coach for JV the head and assistant would have to give up a portion of their stipend.

/huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> There are public school systems (outside of Williamson County) that get money for baseball?

Harpeth is the same. Not sure what the coaching supplements entail, but everything that happens to the field from a maintenance perspective is done by booster club volunteers and the coaching staff. The school has a contract with a soft drink distributor and scoreboards come with that, but ours is nothing to write home about.

Like MLK, we raised money working concessions and selling outfield signage as advertising. The booster club makes money through membership dues and concessions.

I have never seen anyone with such a vendetta. But hey ... your cool ... keep talking that smack about Cookeville on the coacht boards. I'm sure someone that actually matters in Cookeville reads these everyday and bases their decisions on the gripes of someone on a message board. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
