does anyone know how the realignment will affect soccer. I heard rumors about new districts. I could not really tell from the info on TSSAA.org since it mainly discussed football and basketball. Appreciate any help.

Heard talk a while back about Seymour, Alcoa, CAK, Catholic, AC, not sure about who else all being in the same region with Carter going to play teams further to the east. Not sure if there is any truth to it, just what I heard through the grapevine.

P.S. Akula, do you know when the all-region team will be posted?

sports, that would be a "district of death" as euro 08 would put it. But that would make sense, since soccer is not the money maker. I wish they'd leave it alone and let us play hard. As far as all region goes, I don't know when that will come out. Some coaches are not giving their input and votes, so we have to wait on them or finally cut them out. It is a very frustrating situation for those of us that care about our teams!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you serious?

It appears that we will not know the fate of soccer classifications until August. According to the minutes the new classifications apply to football, basketball, baseball, softball, and volleyball. What they show now is

DISTRICT 3,3A - Gatlingurg Pittman, Pigeon Forge

DISTRICT 3,4A - Austin-East, Gibbs, Fulton, Carter

DISTRICT 4,3A - Alcoa, Loudon, Kingston, CAK

DISTRICT 4,4A - Scott, Stone Mountain

I did not see Catholic listed in the paper. Berean was not listed either but I figure that is because they do not have a football team.

Looks like we will have to wait and see.

But why not Catholic?

Either way, it will be interesting to see what the soccer districts will be. I hope they are more geographically friendly. Scott County, Stone Memorial and other trips were quite a distance.

But I have no idea how they come up with the districts.

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
