John Wooden once said "Surround yourself with people who will argue with you", this was his reply when asked what his answer was to a healthy life.

You are right, that's why they play the game, and in our region, the past has proven anything can happen. Although I feel that this season won't be as unpredictable as others.

I am finally at that age to where many of my high school friends now have kids playing in high school and some of them are now on Sweetwater's team, so I don't want to get in trouble with them. LOL! So best of luck to the 'Cats this season and hope you go 9-1. /happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" />

After all the scrimmages so far and hearing all the things that circulating, here's my prediction of the region

(1) Meigs - Will win it if they can get QB going. Defense will win the region for them.

hahahaha....if you can remember that defense you speak of gave up 41 to central and by the way central will be one of the teams in the way of meigs winning the region...yeah...ain't gonna happen....plus this year the game will be in englewood where we have a game clock that works....FAIRLY....won't be able to get the qb position going when he is on his back.....d line will be too tough for them....won't get past polk, er, or ND.

Polk scrimmages SP tomorrow. We will know more about Polk after that game. We will also know if our region can compete against good 1A schools. Nobody in our region should crow to loud until we show we can win state wide. Thanks for the vote of region champs but key losses at all skill positions limit what we can do offensively. New QB with no returning starters at reciever doesnt make for a good passing game. Where does everyone get ND being so strong? The word I am hearing is "rebuilding".

I agree with you on the crowing part. As for ND, in the past when they have claimed a "rebuilding" year, that is when they have been the strongest. Maybe that is why everyone is kind of leary about the "rebuilding". Good luck to you and the rest of the region this upcoming season.

Hey Smokey < you guys get over the clock already. Its been a year for goodness sake. There is nothing there other than malfunction of electronic equipment. I am sure Meigs was just as embarrassed as you were mad. Nothing was intentional.

Yeah it funny to me tho that the clock seems to mess up every year there even in little league.

It would seem that since the people in eastern McMinn County can't seem to get over a clock malfunction they would need to call the head of the local official's association and complain, because an overpaid referee is the one running it. I remember that the baby blue scored the winning TD with about a minute left. If the clock had been working properly that minute might have already ran off. YOU RECKON?

Does anyone else need further proof as to the weekness of our region? Sure SP is a powerhouse in 1A football, but they are 2-0 vs our region3A. ND gets hammered by 1A David Brainard. That makes our region 0-3 against a 1A region. Those 3 losses were by the teams picked to make the playoffs from our region. Sure its just a scrimmage, but everyone plays for pride. Its early but our region is headed toward another short stay in the playoffs unless we have some improvement.

Quote is bigger than my reply..... but I disagree with you.

A good team is a good team no matter what the classification - it was cool to go to SP yesterday afternoon even if we did get beat. Heck man, they were State Champions last year! Sissylala's don't have that given to them, they worked hard for it, they earned it. We needed it and learned from it, what more can you ask for? We have to play better teams to get better.
