olddevil
Sanchez Dickey runningback. He was the total package, just on some bad teams. Iagree that Sanchez Dickey should be included. I am sure there are others ; remind me if you think of some.Sanchez was a very good back;as good as most of the "also's" but in my opinion not quite as good as Coleman or Sparks. He was the hardest worker in practice ever IMP. Lynxcat 60, if you are who I think you are,you should have been included.

Didn't think of Jaybird. He is a good addition to the defensive linemen. His brothers Keno and Kila weren't bad either.

Mornin' olddevil! For kicker there should be two additions - Jeff Atkins of late 70's early 80's and the Phillips kid who holds the record for longest FG. dirtydutch
Could add Brian Hall - Lineman Wasn't Alf Caldwell Linebacker? a standout who went on to play at Murray St.? I was thinking he graduated the first or second year of HCHS. What about Holtgrew QB, I was thinking he went on to Sewanee on Academic Scholarship then ended up being starting QB and posting some big numbers. Terrance McClain was Region MVP and Josh Sanders was a great punt returner.
VolunteerGeneral
I guess I didn't read closely enough. I just went back and read that present players are excluded. Sorry. I guess I am so ready for football season that is where my mind was focused. I don't know very much about past players, so I will shut up now. Thanks, wingman. lol rrp. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
olddevil
Mornin' olddevil! For kicker there should be two additions - Jeff Atkins of late 70's early 80's and the Phillips kid who holds the record for longest FG. Jeff was very good but somewhat of a dinosaur with his straight-on style compared to the more recent sidewinders. He was a heck of a good offensive lineman who perhaps could have been included there. I should have remembered Moe's boy.

I know John Hudson, Michael Norman, James Counce III, two of the Harrison brothers and Andy Daigle. I know there are others.

Bert Snow coached at McKenzie and starts this year with Counce in Dyersburg. Both of the Kriesky twins are coaching at 4A and 5A schools in middle Tenn. There must be others-----
olddevil
What about "Jaybird"Palmer I think he may have played at UTM for a year or two. I remeber he was strong on the line. Some other linemen came to mind as I considered Jaybird. The Slead brothers, Bernie and Jamie, were very good in their time.More recently, Joe Brewer was an outstanding guard on offense---Don't remember what he played on D. John Ross Hudson was unquestionably the best long snapper ever.
