Daniel Boone versus Science Hill Scrimmage

This should be an interesting scrimmage since they will be back as foes next year. What do you think about it? City boys versus County boys.

Who will start for each?

County Boys much tougher than City Boys up front. Science Hill has a lot of work to do....period. The only threat I saw was when Kinley was in the game at QB. His wheels give them a better chance because of the "jail break" that happened on almost every snap. Because I heard there was a different scheme, I was surprised to see them in the same old spread offense used last year. I may be wrong, but I just don't see the athletes to run this type of offense.

Coach Smith is trying to fit a round peg into a square peg. I still believe they are a couple of years away. I hope the good looking Frosh Class stays together.

How were the Toppers on defense?

Fairly strong up front and they contained outside prett well. However the problem I saw was falling prey to crossing routes, drags, etc. Boone had at least three dropped passes that were wide open. They busted them for long gainers on a couple of other plays. Overall the D gave good effort. That's not the problem though. Developing a line is going to take some time and overall team speed is also going to hurt IMHO.

You're right......ss does try to fit a square peg into a round hole. FYI, a lot of the starters had to sit out the first half of the scrimmage and big changes were made on both offense and defense as recently as Wednesday. Our best qb hurt his ankle in the beginning of the scrimmage and was out. Too much going on with all the mix ups to predict anything about this teams future.

IMO the best they looked was when Norris was QB and Kinley could be moved around. I don't think #12 is the best QB. A good arm but not the answer to run the team.

I would like to see them simplify things on offense and use the extra practie time on making sure they do the little things right. I'm afraid that SS may be trying to outscheme people rather than out execute them.

From what I was told this was not a good look at Norris or Kinley. They played mostly against Boone's jv. Boone's varsity only played 5 series and then SS wanted to play JV the rest of the time. Heard Boone looked pretty good on O and D when they had their starters in.

Norris did not look good at all. Has a good arm but being a qb is more than that. He's great at baseball

Didn't look good cause his focus is on baseball during the summer playing fior East Cobb, etc. Good athlete who COULD be a good QB but lack of practice this summer shows IMHO. I didn't realize some of the starters didn't play during the beginning. Were they in SS's dog house? Offense never gets any rhythm just like last year. Looks like they never can figure out what they want to do, kind of like "blowing in the wind, grasping for straws." I don't know, I really want them to have a nice season as to get some momentum going with the program.

    • Yeah. AC brass walked in to the building at Clinton and suggested that the principal start changing grades.  Honesty, the notion that anybody at AC was involved is just idiocy.  The ones who are hurt most are the kids who weren't involved in the cheating, but still are being penalized by college admission decisions and scholarship consideration simply because they went to a school that was involved in such a scandal.
    • I heard it was ugly.  Coach Harig and the Redskins demolished what is left of the Dragon Wagon.  At this point, it is not certain that Clinton will even be able to field a football team for 2024.  No way the coach keeps his job, transfers gone, nothing left.  Back to the stone ages for the Dragoons.
    • Not even close, changing over 1000 grades?  Head coach changing grades to keep players on the field?  Not the same.  They will give Lieutenant Flip Flops the "Opportunity to resign"  right after graduation if not before.     Negative, the juvenile court judge blew the whistle.  Clinton admin, teachers and coaches started this fire.  Been going on for 4 years now according to Jones, one of the teachers that was fired.  This is truly pathetic.   The Dragon Wagon is #### up in the ditch down on highway 61 down there near The Spur.  Reap what you sew.
    • What ever happened to the #93 rb that came in and did well last year when yalls RBs we’re going down?
    • Going to be a rough season for coach Egghead and the hawks. Everyone picking the under
