Jeff County played okay tonight. McFall was missed and would have been

a factor. Both teams had a ton of flags . This was East's best game so

far. Very good show for a full house . I don't believe there were any

injuries from a lot of big hits by both tams.

One player I know of got hurt, #51 AJ Narcise has, what looked like a knee injury. Don't know how serious the injury is.

I hate to tell ya dude, we had our best run stopping linebacker out last night. Brooks had a few good runs but I also saw him have several for no gain. Please do not cry about penalties. We set a school record last night and had a TD called back by one. Penalties actually kept that game close.

BTW, he got the punt off because it was just a good play by him and he had a little blocking.

The roughing the passer call was offset by a penalty by us so that is irrelevant.

First of all: Brooks had a total of 2 for no gain, not several.

You have a better linebacker than Demarus Knight? I guess he was out busy talking to Phil and John right?

As PG stated, nobody is crying about the refs. He just wanted an explanation as to why you call a roughing the passer against a RB. Which you still did not explain. Had that call not been made there would have been a call against east, so yes it is relivant.

Punter: Your right he had very little blocking as there were several Patriots that pulled up short within 3 or 4 yds of him.

D line did pretty good considering they were on the field most of the night. Secondary needs some help big time.

1.) We have SEVERAL linebackers better than Knight. He is overrated and has yet to live up to his hype. Ask any east fan.(I hope you read this Demarcus and it makes you mad enough to play every down and prove me wrong).

2.)It is called roughing the "passer" not roughing the QB. Would be the same on a fake punt with the punter throwing the ball.

3.)Our punter got off the punts. Blame the effort of YOUR special teams if you feel they should have been blocked.

We have a good football team and nobody wants to admit that. Why?

A good football team, but West is the better team. A call a double digit win for the Trojans in the battle of Hamblen County if they can eliminate the t/o's.

Well, while you think about the 2 morristown teams, we at east will focus on cherokee our next opponent. Thanks for the input but JCH fans also thought they would roll over east on friday night. God aint it great they play the games on the field and not on paper and message boards?

I never said East didn't have a good team, that doesn't mean that 28-7 is an acceptable score for JC.

Now that the smack is over, here is what I saw.

That game was poorly officiated with a flag happy crew that did not know what they were doing. They called it poorly both ways. I give them an F+ for that job.

When JC was on D: We got the edges way too easy. The ends did not do a good job of containing or making it bounce and the corners at times disappeared. Pass D was pretty good but way too many missed tackles after the back made it to the second tier.

When JC had the ball: That was honestly a heck of a job by our D line. They really stepped it up and made plays. Brooks was a horse but Tolliver was quick but way too easy to go down on first contact. I think Brooks should have had 20+ carries and there should have been more play action passing. The quick hitters over the middle worked and it looked like the play calling put the qb in a position to make throws he just did not make. I do not know if he just had a bad game or they asked too much of him. He was about 1 full second late on his release at times and it cost him 2 picks. He looked at his receivers way too long. He will get better and be OK.

In short: JC will finish 7-3 or 6-4 and make the playoffs. I think if you guys gel a little more with your new QB, you could make some noise in the postseason.

I hope there were no serious injuries on your team and best of luck the rest of the way. I can pull for you now.

Let me add this:

Great Job Billy Seals!!! I have ragged you before and just let me say that was one heck of a job coaching D!!!

Coach D had the db's playing great too.

I would also like to forget football for a moment and thank the coaching staff for all the other things they do for the boys that the public does not see or hear. I know for a fact that you guys love our kids and that they love you in return. Sometimes that is as important as wins. My hat is off to Hatcher and his staff for everything you do and have done.

Roughing the PASSER can be called regardless of what position the PASSER plays.

That all these guys do is whine.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
