I'm not rubbing it in. Just wanted to wish Oakdale luck this week. I'm getting tired of hearing how good Oneida is and they moved ahead of us in the rankings and that isn't right. The Grace Christian Academy??”Striving for Perfection in 2008.

Why isn't that right. Oneida is GOOD! I think I'm starting to put two and two together.

Why are you worried about rankings? Last time I looked tssaa has a playoff inplace, Ranking means nothing when you have playoffs. If Oneida and GCA are that good then they will meet and prove who is better. and we are in week 3, the playoffs are a long ways off.

Oneida moved ahead of you in the rankings because, as of right now, they are better then you are.

Let's compare schedules shall we?

Oneida has played:

Rockwood, a 2A team that several(but not all) consider to be in the single hardest division in 2A. They are currently 2-2

Hampton, A division 1 powerhouse for the past 3 years. They are currently 2-2

Coalfield, A team a bit down this year, but has a tradition that is very rich. Currently 1-3

Cumberland Gap, A team with a loaded offense in 2A. 1-2

Now, For Grace's schedule:

North Greene a 2A school in a decent region, not the top but not the worst. they are 0-3

Unaka, One of the middle tier teams of Region 1 in single A. They are 0-4

Oakdale, They are one of the lower teams in Region 2. 1-2

Now I don't know about you, but I can do some basic math. IF I count right(and correct me if I counted wrong), Oneida's opponents, at this point have won 6 games and lost 9 games.

Graces opponents have won 1 game and lost 9.

So, if we go based on opponenets win/loss alone, not counting skill or size of the opponents, just raw numbers, Oneida is 6-1 in comparison. BUT, oneida has played 4 opponents (which means grace's 3 opponents have lost the same number as OHS's 4) So we shall remove the single best team(win/loss) from Oneida's schedule to do a 3 on 3 comparison. (We could then remove either rockwood or Hampton based on wins alone) This still makes it 4-1 in Oneida's favor.

THAT is how they are ranked higher then you my friend.

What a lame statement. I will tell you whats not right. Wait, no I won't either. As a die-hard Oneida fan I have TOO MUCH CLASS to respond about this one! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> Don't know what I am saying, it's a pride CLASS character thing you evidently DON"T understand.

That could be a reason your ranked higher than grace!!!!! (Class) Because they have a zero ranking in that category

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
