I also think that you have to include Taylor Hall of Morristown West. She is probably one of the best all around players in the area. The move to West has been a good fit for her.

Have not seen Hall, but heard she is good. Torrence is very good...see can control a game...but she also disappears. May change my mind about her as season goes for Farragut. They will depend alot on her. Torrence should not be compared with Roberts...different type of players at different positions. Roberts will play most of the time 15' to post most of time. And she is very guick for that position. Burnett has some catching up to be compared to other girls listed.

I have watched Taylor Hall twice in the Happy Valley Thanksgiving Classic. She led Morristown West to big wins over Cloudland and Unaka. She reminds me of a little taller version of former Lady Cyclone great Rikki Baughman. She is not flashy and will not wow you with quickness or explosiveness, but at games end she has twenty points, twelve rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two blocks. She is solid in all fundamental aspects of the game and does not make mistakes. She sees the court well, handles the ball great for a six footer, is unselfish, plays tough defense, and makes her teammates better. She is certainly going to play college ball and I think Morristown West will be very good this year.

Doesn't MoWest AAA play Cloudland A tonight? MoWest beat weak single A Unaka. Need to wait til MoWest plays some good AAA teams with some good big girls. Dickson and Dupree has been playing best for a while.

Hall has played against some of the best talent that the nation has to offer. She was a big part of the AAU team out of Memphis that won the national championship this past season. So I will go out on a limb and say that she's proven herself. I agree with you Rob, I believe that you coached her when she played for KGC, she is a very fundamentally sound player that sees everything that is happening on the floor and makes very few mistakes. One of the best all around players in the area. I heard she may have injured her ankle again though, I hope she takes a while to completely recover before returning this time.

Oh and before i forget Taylor Mills pg from Gibbs put 30 on Powell last night (my old school!!!!!!)in an ot win.

If you are going to say Taylor Mills from Gibbs..then you have to Include Stephanie Torrence from Farragut who just hung 30 on Gibbs and took home the Tourney MVP...she has scored over 1,000 points in her career and is a scoring and defensive machine!!

Ive seen both players.......Taylor Mills in my opinion is a better overall basketball player.....(FYI Mills injured her ankle in the first half of that game and propbably shoulnd not have played the second half!)

Dont get me wrong i think Torrence is a very nice player who deserves to be listed!

Exactly where is the unselfish in Hall? I have seen several of her games and all I see is a big I instead of TEAM. Actually, there are two big I's on the MWest team. If I was the coach I would be having a talk about team work and passing to the open player. If you shoot 40 times you are bound to get 20 points.

I don't know what you are seeing, it sounds like sour grapes. In the two games I watched, I did not see her force a single shot and I saw her whip passes to teammates for open shots on several occasions. She and Goins are both tremendous offensive talents and if I were coaching the Trojans the offense would run through them. Team play means accepting roles. Some kids are scorers and should take the shots. Others are rebounding, ballhandling, and defensive specialists. The everybody on the team should get an equal number of shots philosophy leads to poor shooting percentages and losses. If you are a West fan, I would get on the Hall bandwagon and enjoy the ride!

Ps.

Remember Hoosiers? Jimmy Chitwood took all the big shots!

It is easy to be "a force" when you are playing singe A teams. It is unfair to those of us in the tourney who weren't AAA to take that beating. I don't want to hear how it makes us a better team, either, because there is a point where it doesn't. West should be playing where they belong--in the AAA bracket if they are that good.
