This year the Greenback Cherokees are undefeated. A GREAt turnaround from years passed. What are your thoughts on Greenbacks playoff chances. They have got a great passing game with Senior Bunky Vanskiver. There offensive line is one of the best in the state... At their homecoming game last week, Vanskiver was never sacked. He was hurried once to the sideline where he made an excellent pass to his Senior reciever Chase Vough. So tell me your thoughts on Greenback football this year.

I have not seen them play this year but from what i have heard they are probably the best team in the state.

good enough to at least make to the 3rd round vs Onieda, but no better than the 4th with South Pittsburg... there you are folks...

 

South Pitt will have to beat Trousdale Co to get into the fourth round will they not, dont know if I would just go ahead and write that one down as a victory just yet. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ph34r:" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

I agree, but the main reason it isn't just a write in is because they have two hard weeks before they get to you or Onieda... Once SP wins the state, they can also say that they had the toughest time getting there too...

 

Probable road for SP in playoffs...

 

1st round - Monterrey or Watertown

2nd round - Friendship Christian

3rd round - Trousdale County

4th round - Onieda or Greenback

Championship - probably doesn't matter... SP will win by at least 2-3 tds... the top teams are down...

 

I can't think of anyone who would have a tougher playoff schedule...

Whoever makes it to Murfreesboro from the East will have earned it. South Pitt,Trousdale,Greenback and Oneida are all undefeated and have won State Titles before.

 

Only time I saw Greenback was in the Jamboree. Quarterback is the guy who makes the offense go. Greenback is solid at receiver,running back and the offensive line.

REBELRON you are right Bunkie makes the offense go but he has a lot of weapons to get it to, he has a fleet of receivers and he likes to spread it around, he don't seem to have a favorite go to guy and that makes it that much harder to defend. besides that if you do get everyone covered he will beat you with his feet, if he was a few inches taller every D1 spread option coach in the country would be after him.The unsung heros in all of this is the interior lineman both sides of the ball, they completely dominated a much bigger Loudon team and protect as good as any I've ever seen. Anyway I hope we can pull this one out tonight with the rain like this it favors Midway but I think we can still throw it around some and bring home the win setting up the battle of the Tribes on all hallows eve which will be the biggest crowd in Gback history!!! they may have to bring in temp bleachers or open up the roof of the school or something.

      Hmmmmm……doe dee doe doe….i drove the lawnmower down to practice today…….hmmmm…… we got some new faces………. One can run faster than my lawnmower in fifth gear…… a few will be disappointed come November that they jumped ship and went down to that sewage facility……. You can bet the lawnmower on that.

      I don't know what's going on in the town of McMinnville, but I've read this and it's disturbing.  I'm a "player" person, and I want what's best for the player. If a player gets cut off the team because she said the "F word" then good grief. I mean, come on guys. I wish there was a way for the player to transfer to a different program and just play ball. There are a lot of athletes that are stuck because they're in crappy situations regarding their team/coach. This is player just happens to be one them.

      Won't happen. College coaches will back the coach every time and it cost this young lady her senior season. Looks like the player may be right on this one. School let her  go after one season. This stuff happens more than you think.

      “No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team.” For language? I’m not seeing that as a dealbreaker.

      Why did the coach get rehired after she was let go as an assistant by the former Warren County coach and the current AD?? Is that accurate?? I am very familiar with situations like this. Suprised lawsuits haven't happend before. If the coach unfairly let the player go, I think she has a shot because it cost her a scholarship. No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team. Not going to happen. There are bad hires like this a bunch and kids are treated unfairly by coaches that can't coach a lick and have super long ropes somehow. Amazing how some of these coaches get hired and keep their job.
